hey guys i just got a running riot without dying and my team was about to win the game. the score was 900-640 and then the game had to switch hosts and after that the game complete a minute later and i didnt get a perfection.
343i if you actually read this can you PLEASE fix this stupid bug
Was it Slayer? It has to be Slayer. I’ve gotten two “Perfections” in Dominion, just to not have them count toward the Commendation because it wasn’t in Slayer (even though the Commendation says “Any” War Games match).
However, even if it is Slayer, I think it still starts over the sprees when host migrates (been like this since Halo 3 unfortunately).

You’re not talking about not seeing a Perfection medal pop up on screen are you? Because there isn’t actually a Perfection medal in the game. 343 decided not to put one in for some reason.

OK, I didn’t realise it was bugged like that - that’s really bad, I agree they should try and fix that somehow.
i didnt know they had this bug in halo 3/reach but in halo 4 theres so much host migration. i never had that much host migration in reach and halo 3 before and thats gonna be a big problem for anyone going for the pefection commendation in halo 4.
the least they could do is make host migration less frequently by adding an option choose best connection for matchmaking or fix there servers.

I’m pretty sure I still got Perfections in Halo 3 even though black screen occured. I just didn’t get the Running Riot medal since the spree reset.

You still get it because the medal is rewarded when game ends, killing sprees are reset during migrations.

Im pretty sure that in Halo 4 Your sprees are not reseted during host migration

They were not reset, trust me. Sprees were, Perfections were not. Perfections aren’t reset in this game either, at least in my experience (though I know that Sprees are temperamental and may or may not reset).
Gotta love host migrations.
Also, gotta love when there’s no friendly fire in BTB, but as soon as I hit my Running Riot, a -Yoink- teammate ran over me with his ghost to make sure that I didn’t get my first (halo 4) perfection. -Yoink-…

No, you still got Perfection medals in Halo 3 despite black screen:

Note how I got 25 kills without dying but never received the Rampage and Untouchable medals since the black screen reset my spree at 15.
I still received the Perfection medal as the game simply checked my kills and deaths when I won the Slayer gametype. Sprees (and any resets in sprees) did not affect the Perfection medal criteria checked at the end of the game.
strange, ive gotten a perfection in H4 when i was 14-0, black screen, change host, game resumes, get another kill, games over, +1 perf. not sure what happened on your end

That’s nothing but a lie.
I’ve gotten plenty of Perfections with black screens and host migrations. Sprees are reset, weapons respawn, but if you have 15 kills and 0 deaths, you’ll get the Perfection.
Perfection does not say, “Get a Running Riot and finish the game without dying.”

Correct me if I’m wrong but host migrations happen regardless of the connection quality. If the host decides to leave for whatever reason then a black screen occurs to select the next best host. If you want to stop host migrations then you need dedicated servers. With a dedicated server nobody in the game is hosting the match so anybody can leave without interrupting the flow of the game.
