Please explain Specializations

I’m confused about Specializations.

I am currently SR49 and will soon need to choose my first Specialization, but I can’t find any solid information explaining exactly how they work. So here are my questions:

1 - When you have completed a Specialization, does it get added to your loadout as an extra, stand-alone addition, or does it become an option within either your Tactical Package or Support Upgrade, meaning you will have to sacrifice something like Dexterity if you want to activate Wetwork?

2 - When you have progressed through 2 or 3 Specializations, do they ALL get added to your Spartan, or will you have to choose only ONE of them to use for each game/loadout?

3 - When you hit SR130, will you basically have a Super Spartan with all the Specializations active, or will you just be a normal Spartan with a choice of one of eight different Specializations?

I really hope someone can answer these questions.

Thanks in advance

Hit SR 50 yesterday so been levelling up my first Pioneer since

Basically, Specialisations have ten levels to complete. As you progress you unlock the Armour pieces for that Specialisations that you can use like any other unlocked Armour piece. You will also unlock the weapon skin for that Specialisation

On Level 10, you unlock the Armour mod power for that specialisation, this then becomes usuable as a Tactical package that you can equip or not equip depending on if you want to use it

Once you have completed that specialisation you will get the chance to pick another and repeat

All items from specialisations are added to your armour options, weapon options and tactical package options to use as you want in loadouts etc

You will be able to pick and choose what you want to wear or use as you wish

As Far as I see it, you will only be able to use one perk at a time so you will never have a full on Super Spartan but you will have all versions to pick from

What’s up Quake? Alright, here we go.

Once you hit SR-50, you must manually go into your menu and choose which specialization you want.

The first handful of levels are VERY short, with the last 4 being very long (50-60k XP).

4 Emblem Foregrounds as soon as you select it. An Emblem Background at rank 2. Full Armor set by rank 4. Weapon Skin at Rank 5. Visor Color at rank 6. A Full Armor Skin set by rank 9. And mod at rank 10.

Or to be even more specific.
Chest at rank 2, shoulders at rank 3, helmet at rank 4.
Chest skin at 7, shoulder skin at 8, helmet skin at 9.

Once you unlock the mod for each specialization, it is either a Support or Tactical Package mod that you can pick from (takes the place of Dexterity or Ammo). It is not an extra bonus that is added on top of your existing abilities.

When you hit SR-130, you unlock an extra special “Spartan Eagle” emblem + backround, and have basically played an -Yoink–load of Halo.

Ok so it’s basically an unlockable Tactical Package?

I think that’s kinda lame that you have to sacrifice a normal Tactical Package if you want to equip the Specialization. I mean, the Tactical Packages are already really useful, and I’m not sure if I would want to sacrifice something like Mobility or Resupply just so I can equip Wetwork to dampen the sound of my footsteps. I would have expected it to be an EXTRA, seperate add-on that you could choose to have on top of your existing Tactical Package and Support Upgrade. Surely that should be the reward for progressing that far in the game? I wouldn’t expect you to be able to have all eight active at the same time, but I would have thought you could end up with a list of eight to choose from.

By the way thanks for the very clear explanation!

No problem.

Also, half of the specializations are tactical packages, the other half are support upgrades. Just an update, had to verify before I opened my mouth. I had to double check the redonkulously huge Strategy Guide (which I didn’t need) beforehand.

And I agree, it is a bit disappointing that they take the place of an existing Tactical Package or Support Upgrade, but it’s probably to preserve game balance. I’d argue that the baseic Tactical packages are more easily replaceable, as the only good ones are Mobility and Firepower. Dexterity & Ammo (Both Support Upgrades) are the two best mods by far.

Support Upgrades:
Drop Recon (Engineer)
Gunner (Pathfinder)
Nemesis (Stalker)
Stability (Rogue)
Stealth (Wetwork)

Tactical Package:
Fast Track (Pioneer)
Requisition (Tracker)
Wheelman (Operator)

Great, thanks man, this is exactly the answer I needed. Pretty disappointed it means I’m probably going to unlock loads of things I’m not going to use though! Can’t see myself switching out Dexterity or Ammo for anything to be honest.

Do i loose wheelman perk from tactical package if i change to wetwork?

What is their purpose? Does Wetwork keep you off the radar at all times or something? Or does Fast track tell you when an ordnance is dropping? What are the specialization purposes?
