Please don't put map specific achievements.

These have got to be the most annoying achievements ever. Ya, lets make an achievement where you have to be in a specific map and gametype before you even get the chance to get it. Maybe, you could even do what ME3 did, have achievements you can get either in SP or MP.

Most of the map specific achievements come out with DLC.

> Most of the map specific achievements come out with DLC.

It helps boost DLC sales and gives you an added reason to play the maps.

> Most of the map specific achievements come out with DLC.

Exactly, and because most Reach players don’t seem to purchase the DLC, it’s a real pain in the -Yoink- to get those achievements.

I dont mind them, sure they can be a pain but they help boost the population in dlc specific play lists.

Before today, I would have agreed. Fortunately, while playing Reach today, I managed to grab 2 achievements that I was missing; ‘Candy from a Baby’ and ‘poppin’ and lockin’’ (I usually try to avoid playlists that have armor lock). Only 9 achievemnts left for me… MOST of them Anniversary ones >.<

Agreed. It is annoying when no body ever wants to play those maps, and you’re stuck without those achievements.

At least the Anniversary ones have dedicated playlists. In Halo 3, many playlists also required the DLC, making the achievements fairly easy to get.

Halo Reach’s Defiant and Noble map packs do not have these advantages.

They will always have DLC map specific achievements. I personally like the DLC map specific ones. I get to party up with a bunch of people and have fun trying to get them.

Yet they are very rare to be in that situation for the achievement or they map never turns up in the playlist.

That’s why you get DLC and the achievements as soon as they release. Or have a party.

I got some of the DLC achievements in Alpha Zombies on caged. And I’ve never even played a Reach DLC map before, which is strange…

That’s the annoying part of it, you shouldn’t need a party to get certain maps to show up.

For me I would go with 1 of 3 ideas:

  1. Make at least half of the playlists DLC required
  2. Make a search feature for people who have all the DLC (and make sure it works)
  3. You can get the achievement on any maps but only if you bought the DLC

Achievements like ‘Don’t Touch That’ are absolutely horrible, and shouldn’t exist.

Agreed we should have at least one of those options that has been mentioned.

One of my friends got some of the DLC achievements and he didn’t even buy any of the DLC.

Exactly. There should never EVER be map/gametype specific achievement, they’re just stupid. And, in the rare event that you get to play them, you might not be able to get the achievement, that one time.

And, the cycle continues.

I don’t think there should even be many multiplayer achievements at all.

Same.

I don’t like Multiplayer achievements in general.

I agree. At the very least, i there are going to be DLC multiplayer achievements, there needs to be ample opportunity to achieve these achievements, as there was in Halo 3.
