Please don't overcorrect

I know I might get burned at the stake for this, but I feel something needs to be said. The overall artstyle looks great imo. All the game needs is some texture improvements and fixes to lighting and pop-in. I just don’t want 343 to change too much. They’re so close to something great. Graphics fixes and polishing aren’t that time consuming or difficult, so I can only hope this gets fixed the right way. Also, 343, thanks for what you’ve made so far. It may not be perfect graphically, but the gameplay looks awesome.

Yes agreed. Pretty much what I want too. Art style is great. Just need polish

For me the big issue is the textures look too clean and plain. Mjolnir doesn’t look metallic. There’s a lot of plastic-looking textures. They could keep the texture resolution the same as it is now but make it look more detailed if they made the textures look worn and gritty. The Forerunner hexagonal stuff looks like gray plastic, not metal. That was a problem in Halo 5 as well. They can keep the same visual fidelity as it is now and make it “look” more detailed with different textures.

I agree. Keep the art style, but just improve the textures, rendering, and lighting. Apparently they’ll be adding raytracing to it, so that will hopefully fix one thing.

I wouldn’t say something great but it definitely is closer to classic than previous games. I’m very happy with the elite design.

Have to agree I love the art style returning to its roots. Definitely looks like they have somethings that need ironed out and a lot of potential for a rough launch with covid. That said with a game like Halo I think over reacting by people in and out of the halo community is kind of expected.

When the Cheif gets to the top of the elevator ride the matte gray ground is pretty plain looking but who knows? Maybe the Brutes are neat freaks and sweep often or something.

I’ve been saying this for a while. People said they want classic Halo art style and this is basically it. Art style is not necessarily all graphics.

The textures/shading are off but the art style is completely fine. Seriously all they need is to tone down the saturation + update texture models which is more than doable in months, especially if this was an old build anyways.

Tempered Expectations is all thats needed

Anything else is just blowing it up for a downfall.

Exactly, and textures are not as difficult or time consuming to change as other aspects (like gameplay), like I said. I still have hope, but I’m gonna be more wary from here on.
