Thats just a poor use of resources.
Bring the story and universe forward please.
If we have to have a Halo2 remake please let it be the TV series or a feature like FUD

Eh, I think making H2A into a TV series would be a far worse use of resources for a lot of reasons. For one thing, it’s like watching a movie after you read the book. More often than not it’s not a very enjoyable experience, whether it’s due to things being cut or inaccuracies in the way things turn out. They’d have to do a ton of restructuring to the entire plot of Halo 2 in order to make it work as a TV series, which would both be pointless and a huge risk of retconning things.
And really, the TV series has more potential than that. It allows them to explore characters that would otherwise be kept out of the spotlight (as most Halo games are chief centric) similar to what FUD did with Lasky. Seems like wasted potential to follow the Chief yet again.
Secondly, as 343i likely wouldn’t be making it directly, they could still be putting most of their effort into the development of Halo 5. Halo CE Anniversary was made (if my memory serves me correctly) largely by Certain Affinity, the company in charge of most of the Halo map packs. Chances are the same would apply to an H2A, leaving 343 another year to continue dev time on Halo 5. That’s not wasted resources if CA isn’t doing anything anyway, and it allows more polish to be put into the next big game.
Besides, at this point we can’t change anything. The game is likely nearing the last legs of development (seeing as how it’s 8 months to the usual Halo release date of November) and if it is Halo 2 Anniversary, they’d be wasting more resources by not completing it than completing it at this point.

There is a lot of resources and money to make a Halo 2 Anniversary edition and push forward with a new Halo story and game. 343i has already done it by releasing Halo 4, Halo Anniversary and consulting on Halo: Spartan Assault with little to no problems (all the while starting a new studio and hiring new people).
So I don’t think there will be a problem with a Halo 2 Anniversary since it’s clear that so many people want that.
Honestly, I really really don’t want Halo 5 to be released this year. 343i really messed up with Halo 4, and taking that extra year to make Halo 5 would really help towards making the game as good as it can be. I don’t care if that means if it has a 3 year, 4 year, or even 5 year development, as long as it’s released in 2015 instead of 2014. I know that I and many others are not ready for a new Halo game, since we’re still getting over the terribleness of Halo 4. We need more time to start to want Halo again.
Giving us a Halo 2 Anniversary in 2014 would not only make many fans happy, since it’s a highly called for remake, but it would also be a good gesture of trust on 343is part. It would be them telling us “Yeah, we realize that Halo 4 is crap to the majority of you who want a classic-style Halo game to play. So while we take our time to make sure the next game is really what you want, here’s your favourite Halo game on Xbox One, so you can now enjoy a real Halo experience on Xbox One while waiting.”

You have no idea where Halo 5 is in its development though and so that just blind speculation. Duke Nukem Forever is a great example of a game that took twice as long to make as a normal game and was still incredibly bad.

I believe you missed his point (I could be wrong). The reason for the 2 year range was to imply he didn’t KNOW; it is speculation. Regardless of how long it HAS been, he wants another year to improve H5 AND to get ‘Halo hype’ up again after Halo 4 lost a lot of people.
H2A could win back the fans hearts.
I personally want H5, but I was just pointing out that the implied point seemed to be missed here and that an important part of the OP was left out of your quote (3, 4 or 5 years) ^
I’m sorry, not OP… I meant Hotrod’s post*
Honestly, I would not mind either way all I really care about is that the CC=BR and playable Sangheili.
(Yeah there are more wants but that is off topic)
I want halo 5 more than halo 2 Anniversary, but at this point I just want a FFS halo game on the xbox one, regardless of what it is.

That’s exactly my point, yes, thank you for putting it more clearly! Another year of development can only do good for Halo 5, both on a quality/quantity level as well as fan reaction.
Look at how people are reacting to Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed and their very quick release schedules. The games have a 2 or 3 year development cycle, so the quality of them isn’t the issue, but people are starting to feel the franchise fatigue. I remember being super excited for the release of Assassin’s Creed 2, since it had been a while since Assassin’s Creed came out, and I was genuinely interested in seeing how the game had evolved since the first. But now? After being constantly pounded again and again with one, and now two, new Assassin’s Creed games per year, I no longer have any interest in the series. Before the most recent game even starts to lose it’s newness, the next one is already announced. The game certainly have quality to them, but there’s never any break.
I don’t want Halo to turn into the next Assassin’s Creed, they have to take their time with each game.

I want halo 5 not a remake thanks!
Please make Halo Xbox One a Halo 2 remake! I’d rather wait an extra year for a better Halo 5 (especially since Halo 4 was so disappointing) and relive my favourite Halo game with refreshed graphics and such this year. ;D
I honestly have no idea what the -Yoink- is coming out this year. Everything seems to be conflicting. Last year at E3, they made it seem Halo 5 was coming out this year, but instead of calling it that they dubbed it “Halo Xbox One”, not to mention the concept art released in January shows that this year’s Halo is not a remake. But then there’s the conflicting rumors of a Halo 2 anniversary. Here’s hoping something gets released this weekend to shed some light on what exactly is going on at 343i.

I’ll raise my glass to that!

Rumors are rumors until they are proven. Most rumors are groundless and most are always proven wrong. If rumors are the only thing supporting a H2A this year, then it won’t be H2A.
Halo2 A would be cool but i preffer the series to move from the past and into the new.
Halo 5 over H2A any day of the week.

There’s also the fact that the game hasn’t been announced yet, and that we know virtually nothing about it. If it was truly Halo 5, the next big thing in the Halo series, and if it were less than a year away, don’t you think we’d have a bit more info on it? We’d have a name, some gameplay footage, etc. If the game we’re getting this year is Halo 2 Anniversary, then sure, it’s fine to have no info about it. After all, we already know all there is to know about Halo 2, so we don’t need to be trickle fed some information for over a year prior to its release.
The fact that we know absolutely nothing about Halo 5 hints to the idea that it is over a year away.
I wouldn’t say no to a H2A. Halo 2 suffers from a distracting ‘ghosting’ effect when played on the 360, and is also not ‘on demand’. I think it needs a remake the most because of this. Also, if the rumours turn out to be true, we could be seeing additional story content; which would provide us with something new to experience.
Most of all, I think whatever they do with the MP will serve as a precursor to whatever they have planned for Halo 5; and will play an important role in gauging where the next significant chapter will take its MP experience.
H2A w/Halo 5 beta for 2015 - which will ride the success (hopefully) of H2A MP - and then iterate throughout 2015 to establish a solid foundation for Halo 5.
I don’t know who Microsoft thinks they’re fooling anymore, we all know Halo 2 Anniversary is coming this year.
I would feel more at ease if Halo 5 was pushed back a year for more Dev time. Halo 4 sucked the fat one.
I am so ready for Halo 2 in HD textures
