remix’s are by far the worst part of Halo 5, I actually enjoy halo 5, I was strongly disappointing with halo 4 for many reasons, but I actually like Halo 5, the only thing I really don’t care for Halo 5 is the fact that half of the maps in the game are just reskins of previous existing maps, Riptide is a decent remix, but the rest are just ridiculous, the new Torque map is literally torque but snow added.
I miss the previous, innovated MP maps we had in older halos.
So please, do not carry this remix tradition over to Halo 6.

I’ve been saying this even before the game came out lol. But yea I agree.

I’d rather they do test it for Halo 6 again but refine the idea. As it is now, there’s no concept behind remixing maps other than to save time and money while churning out maps. They’ve also managed in the same process decrease the number of original maps.
Before you go bananas on me, let me explain.
Look at Truth and Regret. Two high prophets featured in the original trilogy, the third one is missing, and that’s Mercy. In this i343 manages to quite elegantly pull somewhat of an idea with some substance for Remixes.
Truth is pure Covenant based.
Regret is Covenant with what seems to be a flood Infestation.
Truth was killed by the Arbiter and Regret was last seen as a part of the Gravemind.
Mercy’s map should along those lines be a Midship-map with human visuals, simply because MC kind of off Mercy.
One main idea or layout, a theme for the remixes to follow and we have a good setup for remixes.
Another example, we had Plaza at launch, later we got Overgrowth. In this “trilogy” the only thing missing is the Plaza map during construction. The theme would be Time, from construction to being abandoned.
We’d have things to speculate and talk about.
As long as we’d have enough original layouts then I see no reason why remixes couldn’t work.
These are two mutually exclusive thoughts: 1) “we want more 343 created maps!”, and 2) “no more remixes!”
Unless you subscribe to the naive little notion that 343 just needs to work harder to make all your Halo dreams come true, you can’t think both of the above.

This is my experience. Each plays differently, highlights different spaces, is optimal for different gametypes…the complaint is strange to me.
I don’t mind the remixes when they’re done well. Plaza and Overgrowth come to mind. Their needed to be greater map variety at launch and then perhaps the remixes would not have felt so stale.

Make an original map or take an already existing map, rearrange it, and give it a different theme. Doesn’t matter to me how they make the maps, as long as they play well and diversify map selection (and most of them do IMO).
Even still, it is good to remind 343 to avoid remixes as much as they can for halo 6. There seemed to be many factors during the development of halo 5 million that produced many time constraints, possibly the preparation for future halo games. What also needs to be kept in mind is how 343 likely needed to split their company to make halo mcc and halo 5 at the same time, spreading themselves thin and putting less effort into quality content.
Hopefully 343 has laid the foundation for them to more easily expand upon in halo 6 so that we can avoid remixed maps. I’m especially fine with high quality arena forge maps from the community as long as they’re play tested by the developers. As it is, we can only pray that 343 learns well from halo 5 and applies better mechanics for halo 6.
