Please don't buff aim assist anymore

  1. This game feels really good to me there is finally a skill gap in aiming at the top levels of play between a diamond and onyx player with the regards to how they use the BR thanks to bullet magnetism being turned off and Aim assist being lowered slightly.
  2. If aim assists If buffed to how it was in H3 and H5 I feel like there will be no aiming skill gap between diamond players on onyx and a gun besides the BR will need to be added in for comp like the H5 magnums. Or worse this game will become a all about positioning and map awareness at the higher levels slowing the overall pace of the game down.
  • Please don’t change the Aim assist if it is necessary for lower skilled players is it possible to buff it only for social playlists?

Bullet magnetism is not turned off lol, and the game is already all about positioning and map awareness. Gunskill doesnt matter at all because everyones is the same.

They literally showed that It was not present prior to the first flight in the gun range with the BR? and I think gunskill would mater in an FPS my guy the problem I have is that gunskill that a backseat to positioning at the higher levels of play but it does not anymore with aim assist being nerfed

Aim assist has been buffed multiple times, what are you on about man? And nah go to the firing range and test the bullet magnetism, I just did before I made my first comment and there was hella bullet magnetism. Your whole crosshair can be off an enemy and still hit…

Aim assist doesn’t need a buff. It needs a fix. Half the time it doesn’t work at all. Especially if you pick up an objective it’ll bug aim assist and you’ll have to reboot the game to fix it.

it is not about being good… its about having fun… and if most players unlike you… are not having fun, they will simple return to MCC, apex or fornite… 9 out of ten post related to aim assist I have seen in the forums are about people not having fun due to the aim assits…
most people like me, doesnt have the time to be competitive or get good.

What??? I can go back to Halo 3 and the gunplay feels 1000% better than infinite. The aim assist is horrible in this game to the point is nigh existent and when it does, it’s inconsistent. Ski ceiling? Man no. Halo didnt have all these highlights with you look at someone and disable friendly fire that promotes grenade spam and running as a squad without even having to worry about hitting a teammate or bumping into people. Positioning barely matters when you can just cluster swarm everything. THAT is not skill.

So, yeah, aim assist needs to be buffed else this whole cross play stuff will cause a polarizing and divided community.

You sure you’re just not, yknow, doing that well? Aim assist doesn’t need a buff. I usually get over 20+ kills in my BTB games and I play controller. Haven’t had any issues with it.

I play well for the most part in this game. On series x with controller and I still feel like the aim assist should be turned up a good amount. I’m able to do it but I feel like it’s harder then it should be just to aim at someone. And certain weapons I think I should like feel so bad to me. I hate the commando because controlling recoil while trying to stay on target, along with its low clip size and overall low max ammo, means I almost never kill someone with a single clip. It could just be the weapon is weird for those reasons I listed but I just can’t stay on the person with recoil, strafing and a low clip size. I know with every single topic there will be just as many saying “no X is perfect as is”.

Also I feel like a lot of people don’t understand aim assist. There is always gonna be a skill gap between good players and bad players that doesn’t involve just positioning. Aim assist doesn’t auto track an enemy or do the work for you. It’s entire purpose is to make up for the fact that our entire range of movement is limited to a tiny ring that is the joystick. Thats always been fine before cross play. Now that there is cross play between pc, a lot of people (including the devs apparently) think that aim assist needs to be lowered to make it balanced? it doesn’t make any sense. Kb&m doesn’t need aim assist because they can have as much room as they need to make wide or precise movements instantly. And that’s the way it should be. But controller doesn’t have that luxury and that’s the only thing that aim assist makes up for. It doesn’t give us an unfair advantage, it brings us up to a normal playable level. So why then do the devs think aim assist is giving us an unfair advantage against pc players when it’s only there to make up for the fact that we have a tiny range of motion? How is that balanced?

For comparison, think about how much room you have to move your mouse on your table. Now condense that room down to about an inch of space and that’s what controllers are working with. Really about half an inch in all directions. Precision movements are extremely hard to do. But if we lower sensitivity to do more precise movements then wide movements are impossible to do.

It’s possible to play like this, I’m very often going positive by a good amount. But even still I feel like I’m fighting the control to just go where I want it to go. Sometimes that gets me killed because a shot or two missed is all it takes. And usually I’m able to play with it. So by all accounts I should be saying “no keep it as is because I can play fine so everyone else should get on my level”, but playing fine doesn’t mean it feels comfortable. It feels frustrating to be a tiny bit off from an enemy and trying to adjust for that, but just moving to the other side of the enemy because precision sucks. Aim assist should be turned up. Especially for the purpose of balance, if they aren’t gonna separate matchmaking pools.
