Yeah there’s not a snowballs chance in Hell 343 spent 500 mil on Infinite, the game is so lackluster in quality and content that honestly it feels like they put less budget into Infinite than they did with H5.

So you would rather see them add MTX for points instead of a store? Either either devalues the armor really. But at least with a store you would have to earn points to get the stuff you want. You wouldn’t be able to just drop some cash and get the armor. Realistically I don’t want to see either added BUT if they are going to add something in the name of “helping new players” the store is the lesser evil IMO.
Personally I don’t buy into the “we grind for long so those after us must also grind” mind set. None of the challenges outside of the ranked seasonals are particularly difficult. All items pricing in the exchange/seasons are arbitrary and only serve as a means to time gate new players. Asking for 10+ months of game play is a tall order, and I think it would be reasonable to reduce it to a couple months. For what’s it worth I’ve been sitting on everything unlocked for quite a while.

Sure 5 items out of the 1000+ invalidates everything. Even those items folks have been clamoring to be added to the exchange. Who cares how long it takes to grind for everything else.
This isn’t and shouldn’t be the argument. They aren’t adding an easier way to earn credits. They’re adding a way to pay for it.
Paying for something isn’t grinding, but that’s not even the worst part. The worst part is if this change goes through, 343 will be encouraged to go even further with this type of monetization.

The worst part is they will change the type of game halo 3 and reach were supposed to be: play until you feel the “one final effort” to unlock your armor… Not pay to avoid the effort.

Kind of miss us valuing the good of the grind for points to earn what we get, or achieve what we want through an objective. What ever happened to games valuing what we earn. At least MCC is still like this but I hope they don’t do this.

Given how many bad decisions 343 has made since Infinite launched, including the decision to consider MTX for MCC, I’d say expect this to happen, and expect MCC to be ruined because of it.

Personally, you won’t have to use the points to customize your character if there’s offline bot support. Nevertheless, I support this anti-microtransaction protest. Microtransactions of any kind must die. Forever.

They would have implemented it so you could buy the points but the armors would still be time gated - that would have been the ultimate troll.

the armor already is time gated because there in the exchange and now that you cant buy points its going to be even more difficult to unlock them. not everyone who plays the game is a swet unlocking points is not easy for all of us buying point was my only hope to finally getting everything unlocked now Im gona miss out on all the new armor because there is no way in hell im gona get points in time
Or you could just ask 343 to axe the time gating and turn the Exchange into a catalogue and complete the rest of the armor at your leisure without having to spend a dime.
