Please Do NOT Increase Kill Times

With the upcoming update meant to balance out the sandbox, I cannot help feeling apprehensive about the potential consequences. I do not want to get on this game a few weeks later only to find the AR can kill from long range and that every weapons’ kill time has been reduced to compete with the DMR. Nerf the DMR if you must, but PLEASE DO NOT BUFF THE OTHER WEAPONS SIGNIFICANTLY.

So you don’t want to increase kill times, which would be a nerf, and you don’t want weapons buffed significantly? I think you need to clarify your point better. Are you just against a weapon rebalance entirely?

The other weapons (mainly the BR) need to be buffed for 2 reasons.

  1. Sprint. Sprint is the dumbest thing in this game when there’s a 5 shot kill. If you make an error and get caught in the open, you can just sprint back into cover. It’s a get out of jail free card with no punishment for poor plays.

  2. It encourages balance and competition. If the DMR has long-range dominance over the BR, but the BR has a dominance in kill-time and close-range, it will be more balanced. Ultimately, it will improve the game. Even if you slow down the fire rate of the BR a small portion and then make it a 4SK, the game will be tons better.

The Assault Rifle, or any automatic weapon, is a close range weapon. It won’t be tweaked to compete with the DMR at a long range.

The DMR needs a aim assist & bullet magnetism nerf if anything, and buff the Battle Rifle so it can beat the DMR at its niche range.

The Assault Rifle is fine if you ask me, the Storm Rifle & Suppressor should be tweaked to be able to combat each other.

Increasing the kill times means it takes longer for the weapons to kill people. It sounds like you don’t want them to decrease the kills times. Either way, I don’t think they’re going to do anything too drastic. They’ll adjust some weapons, but they aren’t going to change the whole sandbox.

He’s right. As it stands, Kill-times on the majority of weapons are perfect. The DMR kill time is an example of too fast for a utility precision weapon that isn’t difficult as all hell to land consistent hits with (the only reason CE’s Magnum got away with it IMO).

The kill time of the BR should be what the weapon balance is based around. Not because I’m a BR fanboy, but because it isn’t too fast, and isn’t too slow.

The Automatic Weapons are pretty much fine the way they are, though the AR could maybe stand to have a wider spread when sprayed. And I’d like to see the Storm Rifle tweaked to behave more like a Plasma Rifle than a Plasma Repeater, but that’s just my preference.

And finally, the Carbine’s consistency could use tweaking. Maybe give it a reduced bullet magnetism, but the payoff being a much tighter bullet spread, rewarding players for their skill, rather than the sheer number of shots they put out with a hint of luck.

If you increase the kill times you increase the gap between good and bad players.
But sure, go ahead and increase kill times.
