I can picture a Harambe-style poster with Craig at the gates of Heaven. Every time a major character is killed, have them join Craig in the clouds. We could start with Johnson next to him and build out from there.

Please God no. It’s bad enough that 343 unironically thought the Brutes looked good enough to show us in the first place, let alone try to make us think it’s anything but a shining example of 343’s ever present screw ups. Let this cringeworthy embarrassment die.

Look at Brutal Doom and how that turned the francise from a tough-as-nails corridor shooter to a meme-ridden over-the-top cartoony RIP AND TEAR fest. Does anyone really want memes to start changing the tone and public perception of the Halo series?
Edit: And Halo Infinite is supposed to be targeting an entirely new group of player who haven’t played Halo yet. Brutal Doom was for many the first time younger people have been exposed to Doom and it cemented the view of how Doom was supposed to be in their heads, thanks to Youtubers who’d overexpose the mod. If so much focus is placed on memes like CRAIG and BARE YOUR FANGS and SCREW YOU!, then you’d be getting a fanbase who pretend that Halo had always been lighthearted and demand that the series go in that said direction. That’s how much of the nuances of the OG Dooms have been lost in modern conversations of, and the newer games, of the francise.

Buy the sweatshirt of Etsy or something. Halo has a theme to it that doesn’t need to be lessened by a quick funny meme that took over more hype than the game itself. Although they could add one DLC or even mission where he defects and is quite intelligent or something along those lines. But even that is a stretch

Poe’s law. People (kids) mistook memes making fun of 343 as general Halo memes and have completely missed the point on why “craig” is funny, that being he looks like -Yoink-.
