Have You seen the Shotgun, Rockets, Needler, ETC…
The needler is copy pasted from Reach and doesnt have the mix of blue and pink needles as it did in CEA

Do you mean the campaign models? And of course they’re going to be different, the old CE models are 10 years old. Reach’s versions are just what they look like with more polygons and different colours. The needler has been pink since Halo 2. CE was the only halo game that has blue needles in the needler.
Well let’s hope they will. but I also hope they have actual models for the covenant. It’s all reach, and I’m not gonna be happy when the zealots will have silver field marshall harnesses.

That was Zealot armor not Field Marshall armor and it was white because that was the build at the time, I really hope it will be Zealot armor that is gold.
I too have noticed the resembelance of some weapons, especially the shotgun, wich 343 officially stated was the reach model (they added a yellow stripe though)

I don’t know at what point you saw the Shotgun, the only campaign we’ve had a real chance to see was Silent Cartographer (No shotgun in the level), and 343 Guilty Spark (But not far enough in the level for there to be a shotgun). But the Plasma Rifle, Rocket Launcher and Needler are all Reach’s models, and also need to be changed.

The shotgun is right in the beginning of 343 guilty spark, by the crashed pelican. There are alot of gameplay vids showing it and many with official commentary

I have seen the plasma rifle in the Reveal trailer and gameplay, it looks pretty close to the original model, and about the rocket launcher, to be honest, the twin tubed death machine has remained pretty much the same in all Halo games, and hardly recognize any differences too it (besides the amount of polygons ). But I am positive they will change all the models to make them look like CE, which is a shame, I liked Reach’s shotgun design better
Yea I’m right there with you man. It seems like such a small thing, but it’s totally breaking canon and will also take a lot of us (myself included) out of the experience if we are playing with Reach models or models that are too dissimilar from their original designs.

You obviously have little to no knowledge of weapon modeling. Or modeling in general. Or design.
Or you’re blind.
The weapons that we’ve seen so far in CE:A are all recycled from reach. The covenant crates are from reach. The elites are from reach. The grunts are from reach. The jackals are from reach, though their necks were shortened to fit the old Halo 1 rig and it looks freaking ridiculous and hilarious. The hunters, even though we haven’t yet seen them, are probably from reach. The marines are the ARMY TROOPERS from reach. The pelicans are from reach. The Spirit drop ship is most likely from reach. The banshee is probably going to be from Halo 3. The warthog that we’ve seen was from reach. The ghost is either or since it’s hardly changed at all since the series started.
When they changed the AR and the magnum, they switched them with the Halo 3 versions of the models which were more accurate to the original designs.
The only reason you’re seeing differences in the CE models to the CEA models are because all the first person weapon positions are different. The plasma rifle in Halo 1 is way closer to the screen than it is in Halo reach, and therefore the layman wouldn’t be able to pick out how they’re the same model because they can’t see most of it in CEA. Same with the Rocket launcher, though that one is OBVIOUSLY reach’s with the hexagonal plates at the end of the tubes and the extended casing that separates the tubes from the iconic exposed ridged “gear” that rotates them.
The only thing in this campaign that we’ve seen that ISN’T recycled are the extra specific models that were never revisited like (of course) the maps, the chief’s MK V armor, the the old Claw-shaped shade turret, and stuff like that.
I just hope they at least model flood from scratch to fit the reach marines and elites instead of reusing the Halo 3 models like I fear they might. If they’re not going to match the original game stylistically they may as well match their own frankenstein.

I don’t have a problem with the Covenant, their weapons, or vehicles being updated (although I would love to see Bald Jackals and Curly-Back Grunts) but I totally agree on the human weapons. The Shotgun absolutely needs to go back to the original model or at least tweak the Reach models. Maybe put the flashlight back underneath the barrel and change the horizontal venting on the barrel to vertical slits like it was in CE. The same should go for the Sniper Rifle. Change the thumbhole grip to a pistol grip and change the scope. Also move the safety back behind the grip like it was in CE and 2. The reason Reach’s models shouldn’t be used is because they represent entirely different weapons with entirely different designations. The only human weapon I could see using the Reach model is the RL because it’s been an M41 since CE.
I realize that. I’m just saying for the sake of how many polygons the new Shotgun has, there’s no reason they couldn’t use it. They just have to alter it. I really want them to add polygons to the Pistol and AR models they are using now.
Oh, I meant on the rocket launcher. But I think the kinds of changes you’re suggesting would actually be MORE difficult to tweak an already UV’d model instead of redoing it from scratch though.
Yeah it probably would. As for the RL, I think Reach’s model was supposed to be the new canonical look, just like how the M6G in Halo 3 was the new canonical look for the M6 series Pistols.
