I think halo works better with the abilities being pickups.

The Sprint in halo 5 is the most balanced Sprint there ever was.
Here’s the thing tho. Sprint by itself doesn’t work. It’s already been tried in halo 4. Without the abilites it just stretches out the map. Look at plaza. A nice tight intracate map with interesting routes and jump spots. Halo 3 gaurdain a nice tight intracate map that had interesting routes and jump spots.
Now look at streets from Halo infinite. Wide open spaces. Long hallways. Barely a ledge to climb on.
Boring. Empty rooms.
Download Halo 5 forge if your on PC or get into Halo 5 on Xbox. Play around with it a bit and then come back to Halo infinite. You’ll not only notice that the slide is cleaner but the game looks better too. Quite literally everything in terms of qautilty control is better on Halo 5. It was done right.

Halo infinite. Fat chance. Worse Halo experience and Halo 4 was pretty bad but even that is better than infnite

I seriously don’t understand how. It’s a video game. Don’t you want to do cool stuff all the time and not be limited? I’ll never understand.
As an example. You get a guy 1 shot from a distance. Then oh, he used his thrusters diagonally and escaped. It was basically a get out of jail free card that everyone had. Not only was I shooting my enemy, but I also had to predict which direction he would thrust.
You have thrusters, and armor that looks like it was made out of plastic, and you have a solid power rangers game right there

But that’s the cool part about it. The fact that you can diagonally get out of the way of a bullet.
The whole point of you having the thruster was to use yours better than he used his. So if he trusted diagonally and get away from your shot your were to suppose to follow up with your own thrust to match him or don’t thrust at all and pre nade to where his thrust is ganna land.
Theres so many counters to every move because everyone is moving the same. Every escape you can think of there are ways to deal with it.
Let’s play into your argument. For a bit. Let’s say I’m all the way in the back of the map and I’m shooting someone and he thrusts away before getting killed. I’m not close to him so he’s for sure ganna shield up and that would be “an escape” to you right? Well here’s the porblem I was never suppose to shoot that person in the first place and or I should be in a spot where even if he thrusts away I would see him or I should have teammates ready to clean the kill. Whenever someone uses a thrust to escape in reality you didn’t plan for him thrusting. You know he has the thrust but you got into a play with him that resulted in him getting away or killing you. It’s all about thinking 5 to 10 steps ahead. In high level play it didn’t matter how good you were at movement because you were always exposed. They knew where you spawned. How fast you would be sprinting. How.long the thrust slide would take you to get there. Everything. If your argument is people are to slow to pick all that up then sure, it’s competitive and to some it was overly comepetive because of the vast amount of plays you can pull off but the point remains the same. The thruster system is far deeper than just an escape.
That was the fun part about it. That you had to think. You had to predict. You had you think of ways that will pyshologically manipulate your oppent.
It’s also mechanically fun. I would spend hours just running around in my forge maps because the abilites themselves were fun. So much so that parkour maps were made for them.
Idk about you but I wanna have fun. Halo infinite feels super limited and not fun at all.

So much this. I want to be able to create real customs. Custom equipment, like a grapple that gives you overshields when you harpoon someone. Drop walls that can’t break or be passed through. Repulsors that pull enemies to you I’d love to be able to prefab equipment to be used in forge and customs and especially loadouts.

Actually it’s multiplayer is one of the most liked out of all halos.
For me the thruster was one of the most fun times I ever had in video games

If the MP stays healthy enough, I can imagine a playlist where infinite thrusters are a base trait 
Certainly, there are a lot of vocal H5 fans who would probably love that. But for the entire game? Nah. Having them as one equipment option among several feels right to me.

In Halo 5, you can just continue to sprint infinitely and not ever have to stop. Being slowed down a minuscule amount and no shield recharge is not enough of a drawback to sprinting infinitely especially when coupled together with permanent thrusters. You spend more time chasing your enemy than shooting and killing them. They run from every fight.
If you seriously think Halo 5 had one of the best multiplayer experiences, that’s just plain delusional. The fact you are giving 5 praise and touting you can tear into Infinite every which way you choose, goes to show you aren’t up for a modernized classic Halo despite your opinions.

It’s easy to see that the people who didn’t like the thrusters sucked ss at H5. look at there profiles. Nothing but sheep. I wouldn’t bother arguing your case with 99% of these twts… the thruster is for intelligent people…… hard to find in the masses of whiny babies in the halo genre.
