I’ve recently voiced my concern with XBOX and am asking, pleading for you to “fix” this issue. I play this game with my friends and family at home. Never online. I have come to know the series to be a “certain” way and had the confidence in the gameplay being the same when I purchased the game (as previous versions). The Halo series is something that my family have loved playing together (locally; never online). I was shocked and disappointed once I purchased the latest version only to find out that we can no longer play together. I have no desire to play the game by myself. Being that my family doesn’t own multiple systems we can no longer play this game together! This is not the Halo game that we have grown to love. Can you please help me with a resolution??? $85 is a huge sum of money for a game that will not be played!
I hate to break it to you, but you will get no resolution here. 343i is not interested in hearing from the fans (like myself) of split-screen play.

Sorry that you didn’t hear the news before you bought the game. I hope you can get a refund.
343i is focusing a bit too much on competitive play… Yes, Halo is at it’s core a shooter but it was also a way of social interaction and creativity. from having friends over to do some matchmaking and campaign to forging and machinima. There will always be that demographic and the fact that we are encouraging this profiteering for something that probably will not earn GOTY is kind of unsettling.
Seriously? I mean, you’d think after the outrage of the community, and Cranky O’ Connor’s frequent apologies, that people would bother to do their research before making a stupid and repetitive Fourm.
So, since you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months. 343i can’t bring back splitscreen to maintain the game’s 1080p and 60fps graphical preformance. It’s physically impossible.
Also, to be clear, I don’t mean anything against you personally. I just get extremely annoyed at repetitive topics such as this.
Sadly, RayCanes2001, I would never have purchased this game (relying on the confidence and enjoyment from all the previous versions of the game) had I not been “living under a rock.” My confidence in the format in which Halo has built its foundation drove me to make an impulsive purchase based on the gameplay that I have grown to love with my friends and family (that “confidence” was built with the consistency in all the previous versions of gameplay). Honestly, I never thought to research that particular area of gameplay. Why would I? Instead, since I believed in the consistency of gameplay, I focused more on the storyline in general and looked forward to the day my family and friends could rejoin each other in my living room to revisit the storyline where it was left off! Shame on me for believing in something that wasn’t broken! Pretty sure there wasn’t a ton of complaining about people wishing 343i would do away with local co-op mode. If that was a concern, ever, I would have looked into it. Sadly, we have to now move away from the installment if we want to play locally… Just sad that 343i would isolate fans of the series in this way.
