As a big fan of driving the Warthog, I feel totally robbed now that I don’t get an assist when my gunner makes a kill. In Halo 4 it was always obvious when I was driving because I would have twice the assists as everybody else. Now when I play, my gunner gets a ton of kills and my contribution to that is completely lost at the bottom of the leader board. I sacrifice my ability to run and gun and get very little in return for it. My KDA suffers because all I do is drive and facilitate massive kills. How is skillfully driving a gunner around not considered an assist? I want that recognition back. ‘Holy crap! I got 30 assists’ feels great compared to ‘oh… I only got 6 kills… people must think I suck’. There’s a lot I complain about with the Warthog, but this one hurts my feelings. Please give me back my assists!

Well there is your problem, you are supposed to get rid of those silly “feelings” things. Lol, jk. Yea, I used to get a lot of assists, but I can’t seem to drive the hog very well in 5. Everything prior to that and I was like a pro driver, lol. shrugs
Wheelman medals no longer count towards Assists? This is awful.
I agree, they should count towards assists again. Also, we should be able to see these medals after the game… but that is another topic

I agree. I was on a team the other day where these 2 guys ran an ONI hog for the entire match. Driver got the gunner 60 kills. But he had nothing to show for himself but a measly 8 kills and a negative kd. Nothing in the postgame stats would have ever let you know he was the awesome driver of that.

I definitely try to get a lot of splatters. However, the thrust pack makes evading the Warthog much easier these days. Also, the splatter-jack and trunk-jack make getting close to anybody risky. It is waaaaay too easy to jack a vehicle in Halo 5. I’ve seen some pretty ridiculous hi-jacks. And yes, post game medals need to return. That was another feel good moment 343 took away.
I fully support the drivers earning assist for gunner kills. A good friend of mine loves to drive the warthog but he is always bummed that he does so much work being a great driver but at the end of the match he has nothing to show for it. 343i please change this!
I pretty much suck at the vehicles, and tend not to drive or be the gunner playing Warzone. That said, I’ve recently had two different drivers beep their Warthog horns long enough to convince me to jump in and be their gunner. And wow…these guys turned out to be AWESOME drivers. It’s really disappointing to learn they didn’t get “assist” credit for their skill. I had just (wrongly) assumed they were getting their deserved credit.
Yes please bring this back 343i. Drivers like me deserve the credit that we work for. I will drive people around and they will get the most kills in the match, yet i in return get nothing but a bad K/D. This is huge because being the driver is just as helpful in assisting in a kill as shooting someone.
This one is no-brainer. Make it so!
As a person who can drive better than aim, this would make the overall experience much more satisfying.
