What I mean by this is, I want to be able to chose my secondary color for my armor and not only have it remain regardless of what armor I choose, but I would also like for it to be a mixture of Halo 2 and 3’s era of colors, with the secondary color becoming noticeable accents, all over the armor. I don’t want the skins the be the secondary color if anything they should act like the decal’s from Halo 3. I want the secondary colors to really stand out again, because a lot of times, the skins for the armor, obscures the secondary color, making it hard to tell what someones actual secondary color is.
So in other words, you want to get rid of the white lines and weird decals seen on some of the armors in Halo 5 in favor of a simpler, cleaner look?

I know i definitely want that.

Yes and no, I want the secondary color to be something that wont change regardless of what armor piece and skin is added and will stand out over the skins and decals added. I don’t mind if the decals stays, as long as I can distinguish my Primary and Secondary colors. I person like to rock Silver with Green, and for most of the armors, either the green is no-existent on my armor, or appears as a different shade of green, then the one I selected. I don’t want the skin and decals, dictating the secondary color is what I am saying.

Absolutely want that. It’s ok if it’s on some of the armor but not all of them

But I think most of us would agree that Helljumper and Hunter would look so much better if this was a thing, eh?

Definite. It’s ok to have the white decals on some of the armors but it’s annoying when I don’t want that
Not sure what OP is saying but I’d love to be able to recolor the white, yellow, pale green lines on armor.
I don’t understand why we aren’t able to do this already.

I personally think decals should be in a separate section of the armour customisation menu, cutting down on useless variants and allowing people to stick whatever decal (or lack thereof) on whatever armour.
you should be able to design ur own patterns on the armour.

Do you know how back in Halo 2 when you made your Spartan or Elite have a Secondary Color, that color would appear on the shoulders, calf’s, and forearms? And then in Halo 3 it would appear on the helmet, shoulders and sometimes body, that is the kind of system I want back, I want the secondary color to actually be noticeable and actually stand out even with skins and decal’s on. So that i can actually say I am those to colors instead of finding a body I like and not have my secondary color represented at all because the armor either does not have a skin or because the skin cannot change the default color it was given.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because 343 thought people would like to have colors on their armor that don’t change when they wear team colors, in order to stand out more during team games or something. But if you ask me, it just makes team games look needlessly ugly and messy.
And more importantly, I actually care what my Spartan looks like in the menus with my own personal colors on him. Considering how the undersuit has parts of it that are always black no matter what, if I wear one of those armors with white paint, it means I am forced to wear both white and black in addition to whatever primary and secondary color I choose. That’s just awful and I would really like to have full control over what colors my Spartan is wearing. Whatever their reasoning was for putting fixed colors on so many armors, I hope they don’t make that mistake again in Halo 6 (and also give us fully customizable undersuits)

I 100% agree with everything you’ve said here.
You’re right about this:
> If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because 343 thought people would like to have colors on their armor that don’t change when they wear team colors,
I was being admittedly facetious. There are multiple simple, easy, and obvious recoloring solutions for this though for the team setting. So obvious in fact that I don’t feel it’s necessary to say them at all. I’m going to assume this was another byproduct of rushed development.

The only thing I hate about Hunter is it’s secondary color, I’m okay with its white decals but secondary, it really does not look good
Helljumper looks absolutely ridiculous with all that white smudges, it just ruins the look for a really nice designed set
