After listening to Halo 2: Anniversary’s soundtrack, I’ve realized why Halo simply isn’t the same. Half of the game is in the music. Without the music, it wouldn’t be Halo at all. All in favor?
I just want the halo theme in the game again (chanting monks!!! ) After watching the halo 2 anniversary documentary even 343 said it’s just so… Wow! Ya we all know that. Everyone loves it, so why wasn’t it the theme in 4???
Don’t make that mistake again in 5 343!!
I disagree, the music should fit the game, not the other way around.
If you think what Neil Davidge did with Halo 4’s soundtrack was bad then you’re an idiot. He’s already confirmed for Halo 5 so go cry elsewhere. These are different games with different tones.

Which doesn’t mean you have to scrap the main theme of the entire franchise that was composed by Marty in the very beginning. I enjoyed Halo 4’s soundtrack, but it will never compare to the originals. Hmm, you could probably just say that about Halo 4 in general in comparison to the original trilogy.

Yes the music should fit the game and I actually think the music on halo 4 was one of the lone bright spots of the game.
Now this being said they need to have the halo THEME in 5… Just the theme. It should be in ALL halo games. Its the dam theme!! Everyone knows it!
It’s like doing a star wars movie without the theme… It’s limited!
We need the Halo Theme back please!!!

The main theme was actually a theme for the Halo arrays. Until we visit another Halo (broken or whole) I fully expect not to hear that theme again and would be disappointed if it did show up. Its not about nostalgia its about making music that fits the story. Halo’s old theme and everything that it represents doesn’t fit the story.
In most cases, bringing back the themes from the original trilogy would make no sense. Those themes were written for events and characters in those games, not the new ones. Throwing in themes for the sake of it would just undermine them. As much as I love the music, most of the original themes have been rewritten multiple times and I think they’ve run their course at this point.
Kazuma Jinnouchi is already scoring Halo 5 as the lead composer, and if people stop whining and accept that then they’ll likely enjoy it. He’s an excellent composer.

Who is crying? I think you are a tad sensitive, I think you should not be on these forums.
EDIT: I didn’t even mention Neil Davidge, what??
If you notice, in the Halo 4 cut-scene before the mission that takes place in the oni space station. When Master chief turns to see the Halo ring, installation 5 or something, you can briefly hear the monks chanting. Sure it isn’t what we were expecting, but a little something is there.
I completely agree. We at least need the main damn Halo theme to appear somewhere in the game. Why do some people seem to have such a huge problem with this?
This is a new Halo saga and it needs it’s own music. To rehash the original theme into every Halo game as the menu theme would be a spit in the face to the fans and a disservice to the new saga.
The music definitely doesn’t make up half of the game, as important as it is, the gameplay should speak for itself. If the game is great and it doesn’t have the original Halo theme, you can’t say it’s less of a game for it, unless you mean just for yourself.
Hey you gotta admit, even without the chanting monks, the H4 soundtrack was pretty good.
Also, I like the lack of complaining about game mechanics in this thread. Very peaceful.
Is Neil Davidge still the composer? I like him but Marty is better fit for Halo
