In halo 4, and possibly reach, the marines had boring, and dull voices. They went from the happy, multiracial voices od halo 1-3 to modern day infantry sounding.
Halo had humor, and marines provided a lot of it with their funny remarks. Now all I hear is marines saying stuff like “Sector cleared”, “watch my back!” And “grenade out!” All of them sounding of Caucasian/African. Where’s the Filipinos, the Australians, the Asians that we all heard in halo 1-3, and why do they all sound monotone in the recent halo games. And what happened to the female marines?
Watch the voices behind halo 2, it’s a short film of behind the scenes voice acting from halo 2, it’s very humorous, and halo reach/4 just lack that classic halo sound. And before someone says “oh halos supposed to be serious, the marines are better now that they sound lifeless.” Well halo wasn’t supposed to sound serious. If only two out of five halo games (including halo wars and ODST) have serious voice acting, and those two being the most recent, then halo hasn’t ever been serious until now. So it wasn’t “supposed to be serious” The history of halo says otherwise
Yes there’s serious moments in halo, but there was also humor to lighten things up. Halo was always colorful in the older games, and now they are bland sounding, and bland looking. The grunts no longer shout demon, they no longer scream, they just sound like angry frogs.
Most of the marine voices were just random Bungie employee voices. And the grunts were pretty much all Joseph Staten. So the marines is completely not going to happen, but since Staten works at Microsoft now I suppose it’s possible.
I was just recently playing Halo 4, and wow yeah the marines are so boring, I really miss the funny stuff they would yell. I had a single marine follow me through the entirety of Regret on Halo 2 on legendary, he saved my life so many times. I probably would have abandoned him if it hadn’t been for the funny things he would say.

Right? In the previous games their funny remarks made me want them around more. In halo 4 it’s just meh. They’re there, they don’t matter to me.
But in previous halo’s I loved having them around.
reminds me of the time I carried Splaeza-Mcjones all the way through “the covenant” on halo 3, for the record it would also be nice if the friendly AI wasn’t brain dead stupid

Improve AI for friendlies, and return awesome voice actors, yes yes yes.
