I really hope you don’t believe this stuff you’re saying… lol
i kinda just want a bad sidearm, for when you need to reload… BTW, i’ve thought about dual wielding in halo 4… yes we all want it back, but look at the grenade pistol from the teaser… it’s one shot to reload… wouldn’t be suited for dual wielding…

What? That probably wasn’t a pistol and just because it’s small doesn’t mean it has to have dual wielding enabled for it.

Can you please make some sense or a decent argument?

My argument can be seen through the 7 previous pages from other people who you’re obviously BLINDLY ignoring…
To this I say nay. Though I wouldn’t mind the return of the Halo: CE pistol…
> > Halo 3 Magnum would just be adding in a weak weapon, which would defy the laws of Halo’s upper standard of balance. We don’t need weapons that are “good clean up” weapons. We need weapons that make people want to use them for the advantages they have.
>
> Why do you people not listen to what I’m saying? It does have advantages! It can be dual wielded and kill anywhere from 1-4 shots depending on what you use it with. You can beat a BR in close quarters if you are good and dual wield it. The Magnum can pick off targets at distances that your other weapons can’t.
The inherent problems with this:
Players need a reason beyond “We might be able to make use of a mechanic that actually makes it somewhat decent to use!” to pick it up and hold it for a period of time, because that’s not reason enough.
tl;dr
gotta make these shorter, man. sorry.
if they bring back the Halo 3 magnum, at least put a dang scope on it!
as long as we dont spawn every game with a three shot pistol, i’ll be happy (and I’m serious, and not high)
the halo 3 magnum was good, and it WAS underated. i’ve played games just using the magnum only (on AR starts, of course) and i would do good (social yes, but in rank you NEVER started with a pistol it seemed like it)
if any magnum, i want 2’s. it was weak yes, but it shot fast, which supplemented when fighting against an SMG
> i kinda just want a bad sidearm, for when you need to reload… BTW, i’ve thought about dual wielding in halo 4… yes we all want it back, but look at the grenade pistol from the teaser… it’s one shot to reload… wouldn’t be suited for dual wielding…
you couldnt dual wield a needler, so why not make it where you cant dual wield the nade pistol?
I’ve always hated the CE pistol, why the -blam!- is it so powerful and why does it have a scope?
They need to tone it down a lot, Reach had it right till the stupid TU came out.

You’re referring to dual wielding, correct? You’re also ignoring the other half of what I’m saying, correct?
Countless times, I’ve stated that it is very good by itself. It can beat an Assault Rifle single wield. It is also good for hitting targets your other gun can’t. The BR obviously beats it because it is a BR. An all-purpose weapon. Do you really think that a Magnum by itself should really be able to beat a giant rifle that can do anything? Not to mention the BR is slightly overpowered but that’s another argument that doesn’t have to do with this one.
I hope you don’t just ignore my other responses and say “Well it can’t beat anything other than an AR and weak targets” because I’ve told you that it can with dual wielding. I put in one argument and you pretend the other half doesn’t exist. Now you’re probably going to use what I’m typing now as a scapegoat to get yourself out of countering the thing I just wrote.
Make it the power of the H3 magnum when dual wielded (with added bloom). But when single wielded, made it the power of the halo reach or CE magnum. (with scope and less bloom)
> Make it the power of the H3 magnum when dual wielded (with added bloom). But when single wielded, made it the power of the halo reach or CE magnum. (with scope and less bloom)
That makes absolutely no sense. Why would you ruin what you already have near perfect? Plus why would people wan’t to dual wield a weapon if it becomes less powerful? Do you really think people would wan’t to weaken their weapon, especially if it was a 3 shot kill?

i think what’s been clear after reading this thread is that this is all incredibly subjective and all opinions. you believing the H3 magnum is “near perfect” is no more right or wrong than those that believe it’s not very useful.
a lot of factors obviously go into what forms those thoughts and opinions but there’s no point in harping on the same few talking points over and and over. at this point, it’s excessively clear to me that neither side is interested in changing their minds so maybe at this point it’s best to agree to disagree, yes?

I don’t think it was near perfect, but I do think it was a very good Magnum and was my favorite and I have reasons for it other than “1 L13k 17!1!!1!11”
I could change my mind on things but I think this is the greatest Magnum so far and that there isn’t much to do with it.
and you know what? that’s totally okay! i just feel like this thread is starting to go in circles and that’s not really an ideal situation. at some point it’s best to bow out of the argument knowing you’ve said your piece, yanno?
i’m just trying to keep things on track and clean so the thread doesn’t get locked. it’s actually been fairly clean for an 8 page discussion but i think it’s getting close to the tipping point and i’d hate to see it all be for naught.

Thanks. I should probably make an edit to the original post with some of the things people have said and what I’ve said back.
Edit: Nevermind, just realized I had things like that. Looks like some people aren’t reading the thread.

But how could it fight SMGs if it had less shots per mag than it took to kill? Single-wield anyway. I did like that pistol a lot but I still like the Halo 3 Magnum. It can fight SMGs if you are not too close.
