The H3 pistol is trash. A few game links mean nothing.
God I hope 343i leaves the TU Zero bloom Reach Pistol the way it is and not nerf it. That gun is super fun to use and satisfying to kill opponents with. I just hope people dont complain about how over-powered it seems or that it shoots too fast. It will be the first time since Halo:CE that I use it to actually kill another gamer and not to use it to humiliate someone like some would with a Needler or Spiker, or the Halo 3 pistol for that matter.

Your links were against bad players in Multi Team, derankers in Team Slayer and more bad players in Team Slayer. Against players like those, anyone can do good with any gun. Can you replicate those results in a 50-high game? I doubt it. The weapon is bad, and that’s a fact, not opinion.

Bad players in multi-team? Sure, their guests may have been bad, but did you not see that I got 34 kills by myself with no teammate? And those other games I just randomly picked. Didn’t try to hard to find some games. Like what, 1 de-ranker?

If you like the H3 magnum, then good for you. If you can get tons of kills with it against low ranks, then you’re just doing what any decent player can do. If you want it back, that’s fine too. None of that changes the FACT that it’s a poor pistol in comparison to the ones in CE and Reach (IDK about Halo 2’s pistol.)

I would use a BR if the situation was appropriate. I’m not stupid, I’m not going to not use a weapons just because of my personal opinions about it, unless I really like the weapon, in which case I will try to use the weapon a lot.
I don’t understand how rank mid-30’s - 40’s is low. Were you referring to the multi-team game?
I didn’t like the Halo 2 pistol much. I’m pretty sure you literally couldn’t get a kill with a whole mag. Don’t quote me on that. But I really don’t like CE’s Magnum. Easy 3 shot kills? I don’t exactly understand how that is good? You also seem to forget that it IS a pistol. A side arm. It isn’t supposed to God’s own anti-son-of-a–Yoink–machine. The strength it has comes from the situation you’re in, the player’s skill, and their intelligence, along with all the combinations of dual wielding. That is also under intelligence. And I guess intelligence is also a form of skill. Reflexes and aim aren’t the only thing that matter.

Halo Reach pistol (before TU) was better than Halo 3’s pistol. Thread should not have been created…
Theres always situations to use the pistol, some simply forget to pull it out. Others complain it’s too weak (H3). It depends on how you use it. Some people just cant aim with the pistol, so thats probably why a few people are just QQ’ing about it. I simply liked Reach’s pistol better because it made me feel like a big boy, and got the job done. Halo 3 was too slow, even ironically…its a magnum.

Halo 2 pistol was a 13 shot kill!!! It had a 12 shot clip. It was by far the worst.

If you kept out of melee range it would kill an AR user straight up. You just couldn’t miss.

I do it all the time. Hell, in a BR (enemy) vs Magnum (me) I beat the BR users and landed all my shots right on his head. We were both strafing heavily.
The only thing the Halo 3 pistol was missing was a scope. It would have been so much better. Also they could have made it more accurate or with a faster rate of fire.

Spamming the Pistol is as annoying as crap, I preferred the Halo 3 Pistol as well.

Nope, I was referring to the playlist ranks of everyone in your two Team Slayer game examples. Mid 30s to 40 are low because it’s very easy to attain even a low 40s rank in most playlists.

I really, REALLY don’t think 3SKs are common against people who are competent in CE.

I really don’t think it needed any of those. It was balanced, took skill, and could be very effective.
it’s useful when dual wielded with a plasma weapon, but other than that, forget bout it.

It had the same kill time with the SMG and even the Spiker. And the Magnum with another Magnum can 4 shot a BR faster than he can you, with a higher chance of all shots hitting, provided he’s in range.
