Because being able to 3 shot people in close quarters is not as good as a BR. Or being able to 4-shot a BR user faster than he can do the same to you is useless compared to the BR.

You do realize you can’t just run around and use it for anything, right? You have to use it in its proper area.
The Halo 3 pistol was a worthless virtual pea shooter.
Whenever I picked one up, I was like, “ewww, give me a BR”.
Yeah, I’m being kinda mean to it, but the ODST version was a little useful.

How can you say a weapon is better than another if we haven’t been able to use it in multiplayer? The ODST pistol was only in campaign.
And the Halo 3 Magnum was far from a pea-shooter.

The Halo 3 magnum was a beast but not as good as the Halo CE magnum
Oh God no, easily the worst weapon in the Halo franchise from me.
The Halo 3 pistol is so terrible I never used it, I mean I loved the pistol in all the other Halo games, but the Halo 3 pistol was boring, useless and required too much effort to aim.
Nostalgia=/=Good
Halo CE Pistol, with a range nerf would be fine.
