Well, I think a good mix between the power of the halo 3 magnum and the speed of the Halo 3 odst pistol would make a great pistol.

Hey I have an Idea! How 'bout we have more than 1 different magnums in the game instead of just 1 mag.
EX: Halo 3 mag, ODSt mag, CE mag, and new mag all in 1 game!
Has anyone every thought about that?

Are you kidding me I honestly don’t know why anyone wanted it back I mean I can see campaign but matchmaking it is so stupid. All it is pistol kills and what I don’t understand is in classic gamemode they brought back the pistol by not the Halo CE AR that really ticked me off because the AR has no chance against the pistol.
i will cry if they bring back the halo 3 pistol… it was so useless and boring, bring back the speed shooting halo 2 pistols!!!

A 13 shot kill gun with a 12 shot mag is more useful than a five shot kill one?

I find it fun, especially when combat gets intense.
Ideally, the CE pistol would have my vote to be brought back. I highly doubt 343 would reintroduce it into another game though, so, realistically I would like to see the Reach Beta magnum in Halo 4 with two more shots per clip and no bloom.
I think the Halo 2 pistol was the best damage/skill-wise and also the most realistic looking.

But it took 13 shots to kill and the magazine only held 12.

Best pistol for matchmaking was Halo 3’s sadly.
Halo CE/CEA > Overpowered
Halo 2 > Looked good but under powered
Halo 3 > Looked bad but a little underpowered
Halo: Reach > Bloom was horrible
Halo: Reach ZB > Fires way to fast, overpowered again.

Ya no kidding I mean it’s a pistol it should not be a sniper rifle because it has no scope shown on the gun and It has a short barrel therefore it should be ineffective at far distances and medium distances. It should do a decent amount of damage but have horrible range. Then the AR should shoot farther since it is an assaut rifle key word there is rifle and do quite a bit more damage. I think it should be powerful enough to kill a person with a BR at close range but not have the range to kill it at far and at medium range it should just be skill wise to determine who wins.
Can this thread please die down already? It’s cool that you guys love the Halo 3’s magnum, no one will condemn you for liking the damn gun or even for wanting it back for H4, but it’s clear that the majority of the community doesn’t want it back because we believe it is an awful, AWFUL gun. Either way, pleading for its return is pointless because every Halo game has utilized a different pistol and Halo 4 should do the same. We all have differing opinions, simple as that, this thread has made this quite clear. But this thread has gone on for too long, it’s time for it to stop taking space from the first page in this H4 section.
Halo 3’s pistol was boring. Plus, your “proof” games aren’t that impressive.

It’s a pistol why do people keep thinking it should be this awesome gun pistols should never be able to shoot across a map and beat an AR at mid range case closed

Halo 3’s Magnum was near perfect. You can get some distance, you don’t need a scope. It is great.

its a dual wield weapons meaning its not that great on its own, i want a good pistol that is not dual wieldable and can hold its own against br/dmr
you would never choose the halo 3 pistol over a BR, or any other crappy gun that you might have, BR/power weapon is obviously ideal
