Please, bring back the animated assassinations 🥷🏽🥷🏽🥷🏽 (Especially for campaign)

I think animated assassinations need to be added into Halo Infinite.
The reasons for removing/not adding assassinations doesn’t really make much sense to me. The way I understand it, 343’s reasons are;

  1. Most players don’t use this feature
  2. Animation locked (leaving the player susceptible to being killed)
  3. People just turn them off

This is very disappointing, as the reasons given did not negatively impact the game or the player experience in any way. Most players also don’t crouch, so by the analogy that something should be removed because it isn’t used much, perhaps you should remove crouching. Of course, that would be insane haha.
The reasons given can also be turned into positives! In fact, I would go as far as to easily say there are only positives to adding this feature into Infinite (and hopefully in time for the campaign experience?);

  1. If most players don’t use the feature, then they just won’t use it, thus not negatively impacting their experience
  2. Indeed you are animation locked, which is why it is the ultimate disrespect to a player if you can assassinate them and get away with it (kinda like Tea-Bagging; unnecessary, but hilarious and part of what makes Halo great and unique)
  3. People SHOULD be able to turn this feature off through the settings if they choose, especially if they find themselves accidentally holding down the melee button. Choice is good.

One last thing I will say is it adds a whole new layer and flair to the campaign experience. It is incredibly fulfilling to assassinate those Elites & Grunts and also adds to the immersion of the campaign (and multiplayer) in previous games.
Honestly loving Infinite right now and it is nearly the perfect Halo game. Honestly can not express how happy I am with what the team at 343 has accomplished. Thank you for giving us an awesome Halo game.
Please add animated assassinations 🥷🏽

They’re already confirmed to be coming to the game bro, just in a future update because they weren’t sure how to add them to combat without people being stuck in an animation that would get them killed

How are they being added back? I must have missed this post. You said ‘they weren’t sure how to add it to combat without people being stuck in an animation that would get them killed’ - I am about to shock you to the core, don’t hold down the melee button = no animated assassination :scream:.
Also, if you found it difficult to NOT hold down melee, then turn off your animated assassinations in the setting :scream:.
Please be helpful - help everyone make this game better instead of trolling. This is for all of us!

Likely the same way gears 5 brought back executions:

They did say they were bringing them back but i cant see how they would make them useful as it was just a way to dunk on people to begin with. If/when they bring them back i can see it during the tactical ops event. Ive had a few games were a assassination wouldve been perfect but i only hit them with the rifle and i die alittle inside every time. But i agree if anything just add a toggle (which i hate saying but its the only way) like in the past OR have them disabled for HSC (HCS?) and ranked by default.

Nah I’m good how it is. Quick and simple.

I think they forgot there was already a system for that. Hold melee vs tap melee for Assassination vs backslap respectively.

Indeed, but if they added it back, it would never be to your detriment since you wouldn’t use it anyway right? Since you prefer the quick and simple approach, you wouldn’t even need be concerned! In fact, it may be great for players like yourself as it would leave you even more opportunity to stomp players who are brave enough to attempt an animated assassination. Putting you in the upper echelons of pros (like in Reach, 4 & 5) who don’t waste their time with “noob mechanics” that would get you killed.
Reason why I think this literally isn’t bad for anyone

Bring assassinations back.

So Halo 5 again, so to speak?

Assassinations have already been confirmed to be coming back to the game - it’s just going to be in a future update.

343i have the data that suggests a lot of people turn them off. They’re trying to rework & refresh them a bit before bringing them back into the game.

Patience is key.

Animations arent needed in a Halo game. its silly. None of the OG Halos had them. MS is trying to bring back the OG feel. Not interested. From what I understand its not happening also so good luck with that.

OM, I didn’t even think about that until you posted this. It’s bad enough Co-op is not going to be released with the campaign…

I’m starting to get pissed off knowing they had plenty of time, and a lot of things are going to be drip-feed to us.

This makes me wonder why 2 of the directors walk off this project.

I liked halo 5 assassinations, especially the one with the plasma grenade where you stick them and throw the player through the air as they blow up. Flashy animations just make the game more fun.

Personally I’d love to have assassinations back. I understand it’s still early and they’re not necessarily a priority, but they are fun and so what if there’s a risk you get killed while performing the assassination, that’s the risk you take going for it.

Lol what? Isn’t Reach an OG Halo? People refer to Bungie when they talk about OG Halo with 3 and Reach being the most loved and most played

So long as there is an option to turn it off I’m fine.

Summary

I’m simply relaying what they said. Don’t act smart with me f*cktard.
I fully understand how not to get stuck in an Assassination animation, and i’m not a troll. 343 Inudstries said they are adding them to the game once they find a way to properly add them to the combat dance of Halo so that people don’t accidentally get stuck in the animation and die. That is what they said. I DID NOT COME UP WITH THE REASON. I’m just telling you what they told everyone during the stream for the first Technical Flight.

You always had that option.
