Please Bring Back Some Halo 2 Maps

Here are all the maps I thought were fun on Halo 2:

Ascension
Beaver Creek
Burial Mounds
Coagulation
Headlong
Ivory Tower
Lockout
Midship
Waterworks
Zanzibar
Containment
Warlock
Sanctuary
Turf
Terminal
Relic

I especially think Headlong, Zanzibar, Containment, Sanctuary, and Terminal would all work very well with Halo 4 mechanics. If even one of these maps came back I would be so happy. I’ve been playing Halo since 2004, and I’d really like to keep playing Halo for life, but it amazes me how 343 doesn’t want to take suggestions from the community. Anyways, thanks for reading.

There is already a remake of Lockout in H4. You can download it.

Where, are on file browser? That still doesn’t work. I just want to see Headlong and Containment again really. I also just miss Halo 2. I would go like 84-2 with the sniper or Banshee on Coagulation but now I just go like 12-6 with the sniper on Valhalla. I don’t think I got worse, I just think the developers made stuff more fair over time. Anyways, I just made this so maybe a 343 guy will see an old map he liked and steal the idea and pretend it was his, but I wouldn’t mind.

Half of those have already been remade.

Personally I’ve been waiting since Halo 3 to see Waterworks and Containment (my all-time favorite Halo map) be faithfully recreated.

Midship, Lockout, Warlock, Sanctuary and Beaver Creek all day baby!!!

Have to agree Beaver Creek was my favorite and also loved playing on the really big maps too.

I have never bothered with forge but my son has and he is helping remake Beaver Creek with me

For the love of god please don’t make it like Reach’s complete failure remake. It was way too narrow and way too long

no, for the simple reason that halo 4 weapon sandbox is not designed around proper balance, and the current existing weapon sandbox would destroy prior halo title due to map control not being considered for halo 4, could you imagine a map like coagulation, but with a dmr which has a kill time that is a full second faster then the halo reach kill time, and with bullet magnetism that makes the bloom useless, oh, yea and 4 people teamshooting a TANK from acros the map would be able to destroy it within about 20 seconds.

unless 343 rebalances ALL of the weapon to be on par with prior halo primary weapons, remove personal ordinances, loadouts, and rebalanec the entire mm spartan stats, past halo games simply will not play well.

i would pay through the TEETH! for this mode. (and yes get rid of BR-DMR and leave us just the classic guns)

H2 maps that might work within H4’s gameplay:
Zanzibar
Terminal
Containment
(all other maps would be destroyed either by inclusion of Sprint and Jetpacks, or due to the focus on mid-long ranged weapons like the DMR)

Out of all those maps, I’d say bring back Terminal if we really NEED a H2 map to return.
Although personally, I really feel we shouldn’t get anymore remakes. Sprititual successors, or maps inspired by the classics would be better in my opinion. That’s also why Harvest is so great; it feels as if it can come right out of H2 or H3, but is entirely suited for the way H4 plays.

I want Terminal and Relic back, as well as a few others. However, i do not want to see classic maps return because they might not work with the new elements and the fact the community won’t stop complaining that one map gets overplayed too many times.

But don’t you think the DMR focus will completely destroy Relic?
Especially now that we have Ordnance Drops (which I admit to really like) and everybody with DMRs. Relic is a very open map, and it will boil down to semi sniping with DMR’s on the beaches or getting pinned down in a similar way from the structure.
Vehicle combat could become very pointless once a team racks up kills and gets Splasers, Rockets, Flame Cannons etc.
I really liked Relic. But with the way H4 works, I think it could possibly be the worst map to see return.

Maps like Lockout would totally break with jet-pack and possibly sprint too, since it’s so darn tiny. I do hope they bring those maps back tho!

If you want, I have forged Ascension and Lockout on my own, though I can’t guarantee that they are 100% accurate remakes, I, my friends, bro and cousins can’t stop having a blast on those maps, Lockout especially. In Halo 2, 3 and Reach and now Halo 4, Lockout is the king of the smaller sized asymmetrical maps ever. And of course we never used the Jetpack at all though.

I will have them on my File Share tomorrow?

They should remake Halo 2, MM and all.

Just like most, if not all big maps in Halo 4. I guess i wanted to see an old friend again but you are right. The DMR would kill this map in it’s current form.

LRs have range but at least you have to lead your shots and it’s not exactly easy to do so. I wonder if the DMR is excluded would the LR be too dominating.

I played that Last Resort remake yesterday, was a little cramp though.

Nothing against the guy who made it, more the lack of big canvas and pallet tools on 343i’s part

If they had a playlist that was just:
Terminal
Relic
Turf
Containment

I would play that all 24/7
