Please allow us to turn off certain medals

One thing that annoyed me about Reach was the useless medals that cluttered up the screen. Sure, I like to know when I get an Overkill, but I don’t need to know that my opponent was reloading. While virtually every aspect of Halo 4 to date has impressed me, the medal clutter seems to have got even worse. Please, please let those of us irritated by this turn it off. Heck, even an all-or-nothing option would be appreciated, and surely it can’t take long to implement.

its bairly noticable so your just going to have to put up with it and it would take up development time for such a small feature thats is in my opinion pointless (IMO)

Most of the Pros who played said they barely even noticed it

The only medal that annoyed me in Reach was the First Strike medal. Why is that always a Top Medal? I remember getting a Running Riot, but it got overshadowed by the First Strike medal. Why is that medal such a big deal that it’s always warranted a top spot?

Medals never bothered me in Reach and to me they don’t look distracting in Halo 4.

It’s rarer to get. In a game of Slayer you can get about 2 Running Riots, if lucky. But only one first strike.
But to negate this they need to have 5 top medals at the end!

I could see that. Something similar to how you could turn on the medals in campaign, but in reverse for MM. I personally like seeing the medals and score show up on screen for both. Though I would never want to see the medals in campaign for my first play through. That would just take away from the immersion for me.

Also, with seeing the medals and score on my screen in MM allows me to know when I have killed someone that I may have not otherwise known. Say for instance, a grenade kill or random rocket. I also feel that it gives me a faster kill to kill time between targets. Just knowing that bit faster that I killed someone. Somewhat of a tactical advantage. The text in the corner isn’t always the most visible, and out of my field of view in combat.

Another thing is that we have to take into account the gaming culture that we live in. It has gotten to the point that we need to see all these little medals to give us self satisfaction. I’m not saying that’s true for all of us, but most likely the majority of us that play FPS games.

I know, right. It’s a medal that someone is always going to get with minimal effort.

I only minded the Headcase medal. What is the purpose of that? Hur Hur Hur, lots of headshots, hur hur hur. Honestly, we already get a medal for every one of those headshots.

I know, that’s probably the most useless medal.

I’d be fine if they kept it as a medal but they shouldn’t have it clogging up the number one spot on the ‘Top Medals’ section.

But it’s also the easiest to get. And I wouldn’t say getting a running riot is easy. It can be difficult if the teams are even and the maps are balanced. Also, I’m sure Perfection is more rare than First Strike.

The medals are not that annoying.

I do not have the same problem as you, so I’ll be cool. It’s unnecessary programming to me.
