I don’t know how hard it would be, but this feature would be so good and alleviate many frustrations. I don’t know how many times, for example, I am running over weapons and get the pickup prompt for, say, a rocket launcher only to move a millimeter and end up with a plasma pistol or bolt shot! I quick double back, try again (and sometimes again!) and hopefully don’t die while I’m doing this weapon dance. This is even more frustrating when it is the oddball or flag in the objective games! “No I don’t want that AR I wanted the ball!!” It would be cool if it was a menu option (like toggling assassination animations) that could be enabled allowing you to set your custom order of pickup priority if, say, dropped items were within 1 meter (or whatever) in game. I know zero about building a game, but I ignorantly feel that this wouldn’t be that hard to implement! So please give it some consideration 343. Thanks.
This would be extremely useful. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to pick up a sniper but get an AR instead. Sometimes I’m sitting there frantically trying to get the right position and I get killed for it, other times I thought I picked it up but actually didn’t do I go to switch to it only for it to not be in my hands but still on the ground or by this time someone else has it lol Same thing with flag/ball like you said. So many times I’ve lost a potential cap because I’m flag running and oops, last jump I went to pick up the flag but got a boltshot and now I used my boost and have to run back to the fla- and it got nades out, welp. I really like the idea of making it an option. I’m sure there would be people that wouldn’t want to have priority pick ups so they could just turn it off.
This would be a very welcome addition. I thought Halo 5 did a great job in “separating” weapons that were in a pile, but there were always times where a priority list would have been helpful. Maybe this will be one of those nifty features in Infinite like H5’s “Press A to swap seats.”
I would definitely like to see that. I’ve lost track of the amount of times I grabbed the wrong weapon
