Please add the katana as a UNSC sword so that way the energy sword won’t be the only sword in halo. 
No, please don’t it has no place in Halo as far as I’m concerned. I hated it in H3.
Also, I believe the only reason it was in was because of a cross-promotion with Team Ninja so I believe it’s a fairly small chance to be found in H5.

I feel like the Human race should have some type of lazer sword by now? I mean Spartan lazer in sword form anybody?
Please no. Keep the sword style weapons for the Covenant and Prometheans where it actually fits.

Now what in the world didn’t they do that with the other MLG teams? Also, come on it doesn’t make any sense why the covenant have it own sword.

Team Ninja, the game devlelopers. Not the MLG team lol. That’s interesting though I’ve never made the correlation between the names. It was a cross-promotion in which Dead or Alive got to have a Spartan II in the game, and Halo got to have ninja-esque armor in H3. I think it may have been based on the character from Ninja Gaiden. Ryo or something like that.
The Covenant’s sword is bad–Yoink- and futuristic. The katana is a terrible sword from the past. I cant think of one reason why futuristic super-soldiers would ever want to use one.

I remember if I had to make a split-second target assessment, I would always fire at someone with a katana over anyone else. Hated that armor lol.

The plasma sword is more of a status and honor thing as far as I’ve understood it.
Prometheans were developed to fight flood which would eventually get in CQC thus some sort of close quarter weapon was needed. A cutting tool is often a good way to handle that sort of stuff, especially when it’s unarmored.
Humans passed that honor and status in battle thing a long time ago as it became more about efficiency, where long range guns are better, and provide more safety than going in with a CQC weapon. Or atleast the point has been to be safer with your weapon than the other guys. When the situation arise for CQC moments, knives are more than capable of getting the job done and they are also more practical than a 1+ metres sword. Less space, more uses, more difficult to disarm and less prone to break.
Furthermore, the plasma sword “sheated” is about as large as a flaslight, easy to carry around. Prometheans have them built in which makes it always unsheated and very convenient for them.
On top of that, I don’t want copies of weapons for every faction. It makes for a bizzarly boring weapon sandbox. Most of Halo 3’s one handed weapons and most of Halo 4’s sandbox should be a reminder of that boring grey sandbox. We went from having a usable Shotgun in Halo CE to a sword range Shotgun in Halo 2, and it hasn’t improved much since. Probably because the shotgun is considered the Human sword.
So no thank you on the sword.
We have unbreakable assassination knives.
Besides, the Energy Swords aren’t swords at all…they are keys! Duh!

It would probably be completely useless but ok. I doubt it could even get through the shields of a Storm Elite.
Considering there is going to be an Energy Bayonet on a variant of the Assault Rifle, I think it’s very plausible to have a human equivalent.

I think they call that a lightsaber, in another galaxy.
A usable human sword would be awesome, had a new category of spartans, the ninjas lol require stealth and assassinations lol
I say yes, because we need more “just for fun” elements in the multiplayer, it does not need to be serious 24/7. However I don’t want a katana, I think a For Honor crossover that lets us have some knight inspired armor with a futuristic long sword mounted on the back would be pretty cool.
Maybe even through in a knight inspired assassination that lets us use the sword with it.
