It would be nice to have additional/seperate possibilities to play against the AI with other players.
For example:
3vs3 - random
3vs3 - deathmatch
3vs3 - domination
3vs3 - strongholds
Only random sucks.

4 playlists vs AI = 4 dead playlists. This is not a particularly popular game, you can’t have 30 playlists. The ones that are there need to be smart… and while I think they’ve made some mistakes (like the current Blitz selection), condensing matchmaking AI to one seems reasonable given custom Skirmishes exist.

While I would thoroughly enjoy this (not a huge fan of strongholds) I have to agree with Werd5 as it would separate the community too much. Just assuming here but I doubt versus ai is one of the most played play lists. If they publish stats on this I would love to see.
A voting system would be a good alternative but it is entirely too late in the development cycle (assumed) for something like that to be implemented. Or being able to see the game type while selecting our leader would also be nice.

it seems that there are more people who play together against the ai than you think - and the current way is killing it.
and i don’t want 30 playlists, i want 4.
many players leave the game because they want deathmatch and its stronghold or domination. the result is a 2vs3 game or a third player who does nearly nothing like a msft store account -.-
no mode would die, because there are dailys.

a voting system would be better than the current way.
and i wouldn’t say that it’s too late for anything. in my opinion is hw2 more a kind of w.i.p.-title, like gow4. (they have added a lot and more is coming, be it crossplay, lobbys, etc or the summer horde improvement)

it is so hard to complete my stronghold quests, it takes like 4 hours to complete, so frustrating…
