Please add input based matchmaking for all playlists especially social

Playing against kb/m players is not fair for controller players for obvious reasons. I checked my recent players list on Xbox and was shocked to see that almost all were pc gamers. And I’m pretty sure most of them were using m/kb. I’d like to play against other Xbox controllers players once in a while coz you know Halo is an Xbox game. 343i can you please add input based matchmaking for the social playlist for the official launch?

You’d probably be better off by not checking what input people are using and just working on the assumption they are better than you, not that the input is better. Then you can see where you’re going wrong. As even if you stop input mixing, there will always be players better than you.

Controller players are.dominating the ranked crossplay playlist right now so technically you might be worse off against controller only ha. The system can match you better on connection and skill with crossplay turned on.

I must have said this like 1000times, but controller is better than MnK, every pro plays with a controller and most of high ranked players use a controller

And no, halo isn’t a Xbox game exclusive anymore, Xbox and pc players form a unified ecosystem according to Microsoft

There better players than me but I can hold my own too. However m/kb players definitely have an advantage. Out of the last hundred or so players I’ve came up against almost all have been pc players the vast majority most likely using m/kb. I’d like to play against players on Xbox for crying out loud.

I’m not talking about the pro’s for goodness sake I’m talking about the social playlists where the majority casual players play. And m/kb players do have an advantage. Thats well known.

Feel free to believe me or not, but I play social very often and I had to switch from MnK to controller, now I’m getting more kills

It’s obvious that m/kb players have an advantage. They can turn a lot quicker and snap straight to the head for a headshot. That’s better for sniping and using other precision weapons. It’s just easier to keep the sights right on the opponents head with the mouse. It’s a fact that m/kb is more precise and no amount of aim assist is going to change that.
MCC has input based matchmaking for all playlists so why not Infinite. The player base is certainly large enough. And it shouldn’t mean anything to you for that same reason. I mean what’s it to you if they add input based MM?

That’s actually incorrect, by separating inputs you are reducing the game quality across the board. Any time you add increased parameters this will occur. More playlists they add the more this issue is amplified.

Completely agree, forcing people to play against different input devices is inherently unfair.

Your not reducing the game quality by adding input based matchmaking! Stop talking nonsense!

Thank you. Finally some else with some common sense.

More important than the input will be the platform itself, with the open PC ecosystem that will allow you install cheats and hacks.

Yes, there are options for consoles too, but it’s way easier and more common on PC.

Thus, match making should also be based on the platform.

You have less players to match based on skill and connection. The ones that previously were searching are now split across more playlists.

Game quality is definitely worse when the inputs are as well balanced as they are.

No I think you mean that finding a match will be more difficult which it won’t because there’s a huge player base. The quality of the actual gameplay will be unchanged. Your not explaining yourself correctly. Smh!

It makes the acceptable parameters wider to find a game quicker, that’s just how it works.

If you can’t understand then I’m not sure I can phrase it any way that you will. Have a good one.

Whats that got to do with game quality? There’s millions of players. If anything you’ll find a match a bit quicker but that’s it. Has no bearing on the quality of your match because there’s literally millions of gamers so the skill base matchmaking will be unchange. It’s not that difficult to understand my friend.

By doing this, it creates a larger player base to pull from as well. So que times are shorter and there are more people to choose from when selecting a game to match your MMR

Yes but right now the player base is huge and is only going to get bigger Dec 8. Ken said the quality of the games will be affected but that’s not true. You might have to wait a little longer to find a match (I doubt it though at this early stage) but because theres millions and millions of players the quality will not be affected.

Because you need to consider concurrent players across every playlist, skill level, and each of the regions at every time of day for both input types. Any time you dilute this you have to consider how it affects all of these things. Not to mention if you set the player expectations for this, it may be okay now but as more playlists are added and population has natural dips it will be worse.

I’d agree it would be important to disable crossplay if there were a discernable difference between the inputs, but there isn’t.
