@343 I would really love to see custom controller mapping in MCC. This is seriously the only reason my friends and I don’t play all the classic Halos still all the time. It would be a massive benefit to the game and I would, not exaggerating, probably play those old games forever if I could just map my controls in them.
I saw this was mentioned in the recent news article on MCC updates, but only very briefly in a post section. I really strongly feel this should be a priority; it will make a massive difference in playability.

Looks like it may be something that they finally try to do, thankfully.
I just hope they can added features that allow players to re-create the control styles of Halo 5 and/or Infinite between all of these past titles.
I regularly provided feedback regarding the details of that desire dating back to the earliest moments of MCC’s overhaul. It highlighted new mechanisms that’d need to be created for older titles to allow a more seamless transition between titles. Unfortunately, that feedback is gone and 343i never really acknowledged it or treated it with any sense of priority (for years).
It was one of the major sticking points that kept me from really investing much time with the older titles nowadays. While those control options worked for me in the past, they don’t provide a sense of comfort nowadays, and the Xbox Accessories App didn’t do enough to truly improve the control scheme.

If you have the game on Steam you can use Steam Input for that
yeah, I can’t find a layout I like for 4 because it has sprint and armor abilities at the same time
Unfortunately I play on my xbox so I can’t. That’s why I really hope they add custom mapping in the game
