Please 343 give us a permanent DLC playlist!

Okay so this is a (fairly) desperate (but not too desperate) plea to 343!

I think people would generally agree that they get sick of paying for DLC for Halo games and for a short while being able to play them a lot, then after a few months of a DLC specific playlist, it’s ditched and we are left with a near-miracle chance of actually getting to play these maps again.

I for one think that there are loads of great maps in the DLC packs and it’s such a shame that we never see them. I even forgot we had the Timberland map for the Anniversary map pack because we don’t have a BTB anniversary playlist anymore.

Please 343! Give us the ability to play the maps we payed for in Halo 4!

No no, I’m just using Reach as an example for not what to do with Halo 4. Edited the main post slightly to try and show that.

I think halo 3 did it well by eventually making dlc compulsory for most playlists and bundling all the dlc maps with ODST

Reach should’ve done the same with Anniversary and packaged all the maps with that

This should definitely happen. I only got Noble on Reach and haven’t played any of it since Defiant released. :frowning:

I agree! With the LE I already have the season pass. Ill be pissed if the playlist is muddled by forge maps again (not that they are bad but they aren’t dlc)

I think they confirmed that Forge maps will not be put into the Matchmaking playlists initially, so the only real thing we have to worry about is whether the DLC is worth buying.

Yeah do this.

The reason I don’t play Reach anymore is because the maps that shipped sucked and the DLC packs that were great never came up in the playlists.

We can hope that at least more people buy the dlc. I think map pass and LE do a good job of that. I’m not sure if they will have dlc required playlists.

I miss squad dlc in Reach much. Highlands and ridgeline the most…

DLC Slayer and DLC Skirmish should be included without doubt. If I pay for maps I don’t want to wait 4-5 games to play on them.

I suspect bundling the season pass for the maps with the LE and having a season pass in general is one of the ways 343 is trying to improve DLC integration into MM.

Time will tell.

I’m sure the DLC will be better in Halo 4 since they’ve got the WGMP, and it sounds like most people are gonna get that. There was nothing they could do for Reach, but they’ve already improved DLC for Halo 4.

The game hasn’t even come out yet. Why are you already focusing on DLC?

Because we know there is already a dlc plan in place and we don’t want it to be implemented like the Reach maps.

Its best to say something early when there is still the possibility changes can be made to the way they are implemented

Eager… But we know we are getting the DLC anyway and in the end, it is a big part of multiplayer. I just thought I’d put the thought out because I think it’s important.

Maybe if they had an option when searching. Like a preference for searching for players with the same DLC could possibly help. But I agree that the WGMP should help integrate the maps better.

As demonstrated by MW3, having dedicated playlists for DLC may not be a good solution to the problem. In MW3, the DLC-only playlists are like ghost town: only a tiny percentage of people are playing there.

It’s great to see that 343 are selling map passes with attractive pricing ($25 for 9 maps), much better than what MW3 and BF3 are doing. I think that a lot of the players will buy that and as a result the DLC maps will appear much more often in the regular playlists.
