So after 3 days forging with my buddy, we where finally done with our map.
A huge splatter arena with obstacles, vehicles and other fun stuff.
Then when we where making the gametype we realized our 3 days of work was all for nothing
Apparently splatter-only gametypes are inpossible to make
In halo 3 and reach, you could set it so weapon damage is 0% and the only way to kill is by splatter or assassination.
In halo 4 however, setting the weapon damage to 0% makes it so splatters do 0% as well…
I’ve tried multiple things trying to fix it; setting damage resist, setting weapon damage, giving overshields. Nothing works… The players just get pushed instead of splattered, so alot of awesome gametypes loved by the community like monster trucks and ice cream man cant be done anymore
Personnally i think its a bug, cause it says: weapon damage, not player or vehicle damage.
I sure do hope its not intended, because it just ruins alot of gametype options
So if anyone from 343 reads this (which i doubt) please make it so vehicles can still splatter when damage is set to 0%
otherwise im hoping the community has found a way to do it that i overlooked. So if you know of a way let me know!
Oh and if a it actually happens that someone at 343 reads this here are some other small bugs i encountered:
-regeneration field doesnt regen health when the armor ability button is only tapped, not held
-play all 5 spartan ops missions on legendary challenge doesnt unlock
-didnt unlock raider avatar award trough halo waypoint
Wait, I may have just thought of a way to make it work!
Players spawn in a area in which the only way to exit is by the use of driving a vechile.
After that, you can use a kill zone so that when someone exits a vechile, they die and cannot hurt anyone. You can do this by putting a killzone so that it dos’nt hit the vechile, only the tires. (If using a warthog/mongoose) This worked in Reach, so lets hope it works in Halo 4.
Yes that would work but in another map type, in my map there are a bunch of vehicles but not enough for every player, so they have to evade the vehicles and try to hijack em, or use the explosive weapons or stickys on the map to flip em over, maybe if you look up lava pit halo 3 on youtube you know what i mean.
But its a good idea man, gives me ideas for another minigame so defitly helped, thanks again k0
