Over the past few months, we’ve been gathering your feedback on Arena map weapon layouts here on Waypoint, and we’ve made a variety of refresh updates to a select set of Arena map / game type combinations in Team Arena.
For Plaza, the following changes have been made:
Version 1
Moved SMG from Plaza/Yard to Café - Moved Hydra from Plaza/Yard to bottom of Driveway - Moved Plasma Pistol to Bottom Mid near Loop - (Slayer only) Moved Overshield from Top Mid to inside elevator at Plaza/Yard - (Strongholds only) Hydra is included - (Strongholds only) Active Camo moved to Cinema - (Strongholds only) Rail Gun removed - (Strongholds only) Moved Stronghold locations: Yard -> Café, Bottom Mid -> Loop, Nest -> Tram/JunctionVersion 2
(Slayer only) Moved Overshield out of Elevator to Garden/Plaza - Moved SMG from Café to Garden/Plaza - Added a Splinter grenade to Lift and to the Bridge above Under Bridge/Dip - (Strongholds only) Moved Active Camouflage from Cinema/Nest to Top Mid - (Strongholds only) Moved Stronghold locations: Café -> Garden, Tram/Junction -> Nest, U-Turn -> Bottom Mid next to Taxi - (Strongholds only) Reduced radius of Nest StrongholdThank you! We look forward to hearing your feedback.
Love all of the changes to “little” things of the map but I’m not sure how I feel about the strongholds being moved. I think the map played perfectly fine already while playing that mode.
Hate new stronghold placement, the old one was perfect now it is nearly impossible to cap bottom mid and once you do it’s an immediate counter cap, please just leave exactly as it was
Jonction Stronghold point, where there is a white car parked, if you crouch close enough the the end of the stronghold point, you can be ‘‘in’’ while not being actually in the stronghold ring! should be fixed:) !
If you hide on the edge of tram sneaky, you will be able to be in the Junction stronghold point. If it stays this way, i feel like a lot of players would exploit this to either cap or defend that stronghold. Moving the stronghold position so that this exploit can’t be used would make the junction stronghold position better
I strongly dislike the OS placement in Slayer and the new Stronghold placements.
OS in plaza is going to create some VERY slow games at high levels. When a team loses map control they’re just going to crouch in plaza until the next OS which isn’t what anyone wants to see. It also seems a little unbalanced in the starting rush as the team that spawns cafe just gets 'nade-spammed as they try to push in from flowers. Top middle OS promoted movement and exciting plays.
For Strongholds, it now plays terribly. The cafe and tram strongholds have way too much cover so it turns into the capturing players being jumped by ARs 90% of the time. There’s no interesting battle or need for setups, just a bunch of automatic weapon spraying nonsense. The new bottom mid stronghold is nearly impossible to capture since it’s so prone to 'nades and even if you do capture it it’s almost surely going to result in a death.
Strongholds plays best when they are in open spaces with multiple sight-lines, and you should keep that in mind when choosing locations. The old bottom middle stronghold stretching down the length of the street created some of the most intense and fun battles I’ve seen, and it took a lot of teamwork to execute a successful cap. I’d recommend reverting to the old stronghold placements and moving a power-up or power weapon to the plaza side of the map to create some balance as the nest side is preferred with its proximity to bottom-middle.
Stronghold placements are freaking terrible. Like really -Yoinking!- terrible, ´this maps plays like really -Yoinking!- -Yoink- right now. Like really.
If the placements stays like this you have to remove every grenade from the map. because bottom mid is impossible to takeback.
Aswell as junction and cafe is not an option to hold for Points.
Stronghold placements render the cinema area of the map redundant. This might not work either… but what about a stronghold at nest rather than loop, and still cafe and tram?
The map runs brill i noticed that the plasma grenades spawn a bit to quick and can be spammed and over used, the capture points are a bit to close for me but thats just me.
The Smg is in a good place words smoothly. Apart from that its a bloody good map!!
The Overshield in the elevator spot of Plaza/Yard is intended to aid the team that’s trapped in Tram/Cafe when the opposing team has control of the Sniper Rifle. The old placement favored the team with sniper and Cinema control. This should change the strategy to push into Plaza/Yard on the odd minutes to contest Overshield. Something that is missing from the previous Slayer layout of Plaza.
We’ll see where it all shakes out. Expect to see changes next week or so. Thanks!

I agree with OS being moved further away from Sniper, that’s something my friends and I were discussing a few weeks ago. When a team is set up in the usual Cinema/Hotel/Loop spots, controlling both Sniper and OS is very powerful and leads to frequent blowout games.
But I definitely don’t agree with the new Stronghold placements, the map played so much better before. The new Bottom Mid is just a spammy nade-fest, to put it bluntly.
I do like the idea of moving the Bottom Mid stronghold however, possibly moving the whole thing further to Driveway to encourage rotation (very similar to the new Rig Basement placement moving closer to Barrels/Yellow Corner). That change, keeping Nest and Yard the same as before, makes it less of a setup map and more of a rotational one - again, similar to post-preview Rig. The size of the Bottom Mid stronghold should be the same as pre-preview still, it made for some fantastic fights and plays (bubu dubu and Commonly’s camo plays among others).
I like how the middle capture point is smaller, but still too easy to be a jerk and defend a lot of them ie hiding in windowsills or nading mid from almost anywhere on the map. Seems more streamlined (I hated the mid stronghold) but idk.
