Playlist Progression System (Exp)

TU2 for Halo 3 was easily considered the best update for that game. It added an individual ranking system for each playlist based on the number of wins you had. This was great because it applied to both Social and Ranked in Halo 3, adding more incentive to win in social and bragging rights for ranked (Many players not only got a 50, put had 500+ wins on it that were easily visible with the playlist general symbol.)

Why doesn’t Reach have this style of ranking system for competitive? cR Rank don’t show anything other than playtime, and Arena is just one playlist. There is absolutely no motivation to win in Competitive, resulting in a ridiculous amount of players quitting out 30 seconds into the game when matched up against a better team. Back in Halo 3 if you quit out you lost exp, this applied to your global and playlist rank and encouraged players to stay in their game till the end.

^ HaloTracker already has a great example of a playlist progression system for Reach. Why not use this as a starting point.

Would this use the current arena division rating or a similar numbered rating like seen in previous games?

Look at the link for a basic idea of how it would work. Its based on Wins.

Win = 1 exp
Loss = 0 exp
Quit = -1 exp

So basically a similar idea of the Halo 3 Playlist EXP progression system? In that case I’m all for it.

Pretty much. Basically the Halo 3 playlist ranks (white emblems) for every playlist in Reach.
