Anyways I went to BTB in social, and it said 0 population. I was so disappointed! But I went back and loaded it up anyways, and voila! I got into a game very fast.
So play the one you want, I think the population tracker is broken, or they are hiding it on purpose.
PS:Microsoft, what the muffin hell is your freaking unbelievable reason for not updating the playlists? You were given the keys to the kingdom, but you look like you have been out all night at the party with the boss and no one is at the office to run the show…who the hello is managing everything?
They aren’t updating it because the tech running it is more than 6 years old. Not only would they have to fight to learn it, but things still may not come out right. I wouldn’t want more errors because they’re messing with tech they don’t know.
Plus, its a 6 year old game. You don’t need to invest all that much into it, focus on improving what is to come.
It always baffles me people are only willing to play a Halo game if the population counter looks right. Who looks at that in-game anyways?
I’ve been playing Halo 3 for 6 years and never once said to myself “well if the population counter looks low I’m not getting on”. Forget that that! I’ve gone on when it said zero in BTB a few times and it found players all night fast and efficiently. I’d never stop playing the greatest Halo game on the 360 because a few numbers look low lol.
Now with it being free this weekend will be epic fun.
Well…that was my point. Ignore the counters, since they are wrong. People may not want to go into a playlist that has “0” population since that would logically indicate that they won’t get matched up with anyone…
That’s weird it was working earlier this week, showing 5,000 players online at times, and now its stuck at 2,505 or something like that. It’s almost like 343i stuck it at a low number to hide the fact that Halo 3 is going to have more people playing it than Halo 4, at least for a little while.

Please don’t put garbage like this in, it’s really inconsiderate.

Well you do realize that Halo:Reach has had a healthier population than Halo 4 for quite some time now.
He’s probably right about H3 having a better pop than halo 4. It’s only logical considering it’s free at this very moment…
