PLAYLIST FEEDBACK: Squad Slayer

Please discuss the Squad Slayer playlist here.

Should be made into Squad battle with various CTF variants (2 Flag Slayer, 3 Flag), Assault, and KoTH while also receiving community maps, including Wayont and Affinity.

To balance it, Team Slayer should lose the community maps to boost it to a 4-player splitscreen playlist.

For the most part I’d keep as is. Just remove Cage and make DLC required so Anchor 9, Condemned, and Tempest can be used.

Definitely needs more objective games in SS but it shouldn’t be at a constant rate like BTB (which should be renamed BTB Objective at this point).

Also, one frag grenade on spawn. This common sense and reduces spam, this boggles this ones mind to why it’s STILL at 2 frags (for any playlist really, not just SS).

Quite frankly, I would NOT like to see objective games in SS. Maybe 343 could create another playlist for Squad Battle? I play SS or Team Slayer whenever I want to simply kill, rather than focus on an objective.

I’d also like to see one frag grenade. I’ve been in several games where it was just an all-out grendade-fest, and it was irritating.

I like how frequently Slayer DMR’s comes up, so I wouldn’t change that. Other than maybe changing it to DMR’s-only, but I can see how some people wouldn’t like that change.

Uncaged and MAYBE Pinnacle can be removed. I never have enjoyed those maps, and I’d say a good portion of the Reach community don’t either.

It’s a great playlist overall, and I’m pretty happy with it! Sure, it could use a few minor tweaks, but none of the gripes I have with it are game-breaking.

It could use some bigger maps, some of them are a bit too small for 10 players and feels crowded.

And like all other playlists, Cage should have been removed months ago.

Remove Active Camo from the loadouts…it gets abuse just as much as, if not more than Armor Lock does in Team Slayer.

-Only 1 Grenade at spawn.

  • Community maps here
  • Add symmetrical objective, like Multiflag CTF and Assault.
  • If possible, make the movement and jump on every playlist to 110% by default

Actually, a well-placed grenade is impossible to dodge (from a still position) without Evade (which isn’t in Squad).

Go ahead and test it out in a custom game with another controller. The fuse time is too short, it isn’t physically possible for your spartan to get out of range in time.

That’s why you don’t stay still… obviously. Staying still never did anyone any good.

There needs to be one normal playlist with just Sprint and no other AAs. This would make a good choice.

It would be nice to get at least Noble requirements for this as well. Tempest and Anchor 9 would fit perfectly.

YOU DO NOT KNOW THE POWER OF 5v5 2 FLAG SLAYER ON AFFINITY OR 5v5 MULTIFLAG ON WAYONT.

Truly the best Objective gametype experiences I’ve had with Reach.

I would like to quote this and say, keep camo, implement camo patch to this, it would stop the Snipers just sitting back and rarely moving.

lol? So you never stop moving in a game, ever?

Right.

The “from a standing position” part was just to illustrate how powerful it is. Even if you are already moving, it’s still borderline impossible. You still have to already be moving in the direction away from the grenade before it’s thrown. If it lands right in front of you and you are moving forward, for example, there is not enough time to change directions to avoid it, nor is there enough time to power through it forwards. Once again, creating a situation of impossibility.

Grenades should be used skillfully, not just thrown anywhere within a 10-mile radius and still hurt players.

Or the DLC maps just need to go ahead be released for free on November 15th. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not cheap and I bought them, but since I never get to play them it’s a bit of a waste.

I’d like to see in SS, more objective based games and better maps.

I use to play SS all the time but just everything turned me off about it, hopefully this can be fixed.

Affinity is not in Squad to my knowledge.

I don’t know if i’m the only one who think that’s it’s kinda weird to have 2 Playlist that are for Team Slayer gametypes , but I think that they should :

1-Add some Slayer gametypes to Squad Slayer because I personally think that Squad Slayer and Squad Slayer DMR is really not enough , how about adding Elite Slayer and Slayer Pro ?

2-Add some Community Maps to Squad Slayer and of course DLC maps (Anchor 9, Tempest, Condemned and I guess the maps from the Anniversary Map Pack , excluding the big ones like Breakneck and Ridgeline)

Or they could simply remove Squad Slayer and have the 4 VS 4 of Team Slayer replaced by 5 VS 5 , or they could do reverse (remove Team Slayer , keep 5 VS 5 in Squad Slayer and add Community maps and DLC maps)
