Really enjoyed the Rumble Pit so far - although haven’t got to try rocket repulsors yet.

Loved Vampire Ball. Maybe just a bit of a shield repair / boost when you first pick up the ball? Just to reward the player going for the ball. There was a lot of picking up the ball and then dying.

With the Ninja Swords - I don’t think the sticky grenades fit. Too many people kind of stand there and let you come at them - just to stick you for the trade. Maybe dynamo grenades (which would slow you down and/or stop lunges) would be better?

And maybe a better description of the game mode and rules on screen before you enter. It’s probably a bit confusing for those who didn’t know before hand.

I like Rumble Pit because it has different FFA Game Modes. Would be great if Rumble Pit remained a permanent playlist.

Bad news bears for you – that mode has been removed for now!

Agree, died a lot because i grabbed the ball. The ball is like a magnet for me

Really  ?
Bad news, really liked this game mode.

I believe there were some concerns with balance, match length, etc so it’s been removed to be reevaluated.

I like Rumble pit but I have some feels about this:

1.- Odball game mode should have more respawn time for players, because 8 players in small maps like “live Fire” or “recharge” is a frustrating war for people who actually play the objective and are not there for the EZ kills. I See lots of players struggle for 1-2 seconds time with the ball before all 7 remaining player appear again next to the ball.

2.- Really love FFA slayer, and sometimes that was the only playlist I wanted to play. Unfortunately the playlist no longer exist and looking for a slayer match can be challenging and depending on luck, it could take 3-4 matches before you get one… Please return a Slayer Only FFA for people like me!.

3.- How about a King of the Hill game mode? (FFA)

My feedback about Rumble Pit:

I like some modes, others i don’t. To bad we can’t choose the modes. The sniper-mode i absolutely hate, i never liked it and to be honest: if i see it coming up, i will quit imidiately. That is how much i hate it. That’s is a reason why i would rather have seen an option where you can tick on wich modes you like to search for. Especially since you are ‘forced’ to play FFA for your challenges and FFA is already something a lot of players don’t like.

Vampireball: i like the mode, the one-hit kill makes it so that you can actually fight back when you have the ball and the little bit of OS you get makes it so it is balanced, since otherwise you would have to fight multiple people at once.

Rocket+repulsor: to bad it’s removed. It would have loved to try this. I heared it was an oddball variant? That might be a bit unbalanced since you can’t hold the ball then, since it disables the equipment. Perhaps make it a variant of slayer in stead of oddball?

Oddball: I have played this on Live Fire. It was just awfull in my opinion. Grabbing the ball is just suicide, since you won’t live for more then 1 or 2 seconds, since it’s still a 2-hit-kill with the ball. This gives you no chance to fight back. On top of that Live Fire is way to open for it, so you will be fired upon from multiple angles. The only place you have to get a bit more cover is behind the tower, but you can’t get the ball there. The match therefore also ended without anyone reaching the intended score, but rather because the time ran out.
How to fix it: Make the oddball in FFA always an one-hit kill. It might make sence to be a 2-hit-kill in a teammatch, since you have teammates helping you out, but that is not the case in FFA. On top of that: don’t play this on Live Fire or Behemoth, because those maps are just to open for it in my opinion.

A mode i am still missing: KOTH. I think within Rumble Pit a FFA KOTH mode is missing. Make it the same as in MCC, where you score a point for every full second you stay in a uncontested hill and the hill moves every minute to a different place. I think this could work on maps like Catalyst, Aquarius and Recharge. But i think it might also work on Launch Site, since that map is a bit bigger and therefore it would be a little less of a chaos around the hill and you can score a couple of seconds before dying.

player count needs to be reduced from 8 to 6, at least in certain game modes. Oddball is practically unplayable because there are so many players in such a small area of the map all the time. 6 players, even in other modes, allows the players to approach situations more strategically while maintaining the mayhem of FFA.

Keeping my feedback short and to the point, I’d love to play rumble pit with a friend. Even if its a max party of 2, it would be an improvement on playing the most casual game modes yet alone.

No offense to all of the great Halo players with a solid sense of fair play, but please do not allow parties of two (or more) people to join a Rumble Pit match.

Although the vast majority of them would play Rumble Pit as an honest, fair match, you know that 2-person parties would potentially be too much of a temptation for people who are boosting challenges, achievements, or simply just team-up against someone else.

To be honest… rumble pit is exactly what it should be. All game modes on all non-BTB maps. It feels good. Rotation is completely random for maps and game modes so it feels like classic halo rumble pit.

Only thing that will make it better is more maps and game modes. The playlist is solid so far.

I feel that FFA being social letting friends play would be a great idea. Although I would also bring in Ranked HCS FFA as a separate playlist with solo queue only.

I feel having both playlists would support each other. I for one would chill in one with friends and then grind the ranked side. More so than the other Ranked and social playlists.

On a side note regarding team killing in FFA;
I team up / follow other Spartans around the map in FFA (social or ranked) - it’s a good way to win. It’s a great technique to steal kills and it’s always fun then to kill the player you may have just supported for 1 minute.

Mind games!

I also like to use other players in Odd Ball sometimes I’ll purposely let a player win by protecting them, especially if I’m top 3 and it suits.

It’s all apart of the game. Screwing people over to get to the top. It’s all about being a lone wolf and surviving in the wild.

However, if I play with friends 9/10 I want to smack em down until they’re dead.

On rumble pits current state it works really well cause it’s just a bit of fun. I hate sniping so the shottie sniper mode has really helped me improve my game.

8 players ruins the flow of matches. You get third partied basically every fight (which against competent opponents means you don’t win that fight or live very long), you can’t play the OBJ (I don’t think I’ve seen a single OBJ match in FFA do anything than go to time) and even if you win fights 90% of the time you immediately get cleaned up by someone who saw the fight or just spawned nearby before you can even get shields back.

The number of people in an FFA match for Halo needs to be such that you can kill someone and reasonably expect that you’ll be able to recharge your shields or have them be almost charged by the time the next person shows up.

Unfortunately the removal of the Free for All Slayer playlist has made the game redundant for me.

I appreciate I’m in the minority but that’s the game mode I enjoy playing and although I’ve found a few game modes in Rumble Pit fun having to play lots of matches I don’t want to play has ruined the game.

I am a person who does not enjoy FFA matches and try and stay away from them, but I must admit I am loving some rumble pit Although never been a fan of FFA slayer Fiesta slayer is fun my favorite would be a toss between Vampire oddball and FFA Oddball. 9tons of points and kills for challenges)

Fingers cross we might get a version of Headhunters in Rumble pit soon using the BTB maps.

Rumble Pit is a fun mode. FFA is not tactical. Its pure chaos. Thats the reason why i love Rumble Pit and every mode it has.

I think they should just make submenu’s, so people can choose better what they want.

Then the main menu can only contain:

  • Arena Slayers (4v4 slayer type matches)
  • Arena Objective (4v4 objective type matches)
  • Big Team battle (12v12 matches)
  • Free for all (6- or 12-player solo matches)
  • Ranked

Clicking on one of them gives you a submenu where you can choose your gamemode within that. Since this is about Rumble Pit, that would be under FFA and the FFA menu then contains the following submenu’s:

  • Quick Play (you are being put in the waiting list for all modes in this list and put into whatever is available first)
  • FFA Slayer (6 players players on Arena maps)
  • FFA Snipers (6 players on Arena maps)
  • Last Spartan Standing (12 players on BTB maps)
  • Action Sack (6 players on Arena maps)

Action sack then gives you randomly one of the available gamemodes in it, wich could be:

  • Vampireball
  • Rocket Repulsors (as in slayer variant, this just doesn’t work with oddball)
  • Graple Swords (slayer with only grapples and swords)
  • Coilslayer (slayer with only fusion coils)

Hello, I am totally new to this Halowaypoint forms section. I was wondering if you could possibly help me out. I recently watched Halo EURO and got some twitch drops. I’ve unlinked and re-linked my account on Halowaypoint couple times. Can you please message me? I am so new to this. Thank you for your time.
