Playlist Consolidation: It was meant to be

In this weeks bulletin,

"From October 16th – 31st, Halo 3 will be free for all Xbox Live Gold members as part of Games with Gold! Announced at E3 this year, the Games with Gold program gives every Xbox Live Gold subscriber two free Xbox 360 games per month until the release of Xbox One. If you haven’t yet played Halo 3, would like to relive the campaign, or just want to play some multiplayer, head to the Xbox Live Marketplace to download.

We are thrilled that fans are being introduced to the precursor to Halo 4, and excited that new players may have a chance to learn about (and play) Halo through this program. Due to the limitations associated with legacy tech, we will not be consolidating or changing the playlist layout for Halo 3, but are working closely with Xbox LIVE to ensure that players have a great experience with the Games with Gold program."

Limitations with legacy tech? There won’t be playlist consolidation because of legacy tech? What about the Recon armor you gave us? How come legacy tech didn’t take part in that?

What about how Bravo assured there would be playlist consolidation in a podscast with Major Nelson? What about “sprucing up the playlist so we could have a nice experience”?

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s a snip it of the podscast I’m referring to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=mpaG4dQ4os8

343, what the hell happened? Now when people go in to Halo 3 there are only going to be 4 playlist to play? That is not the experience I remember with Halo 3. Surely, this isn’t the ideal one either. I repeat, what the hell happened?

I also found this peculiar and disappointing. I’m no tech expert, but why is this “legacy tech” a problem? Is it so significant that 343 can’t simply change a few playlists? This is especially frustrating since it was mentioned that they would consolidate the playlists.

Yet another broken promise by 343. They’re really not helping themselves right now. Quite frankly, I’m really starting to question their competence.

What a load of -Yoink!-.

I suppose Microsoft has bigger issues with its floundering console launch than to worry about such a detail in its floundering flagship franchise.

There’s never been a better time to just walk away. At this point it feels like…

Destiny.

Xbox has been a part of fumbling PR for a while, so a podcast talking about Halo 3 ‘undergoing changes’ sadly isn’t enough. I need to play the actual ‘re-release’.

I know there are official statements, but still.

This is what happens when you trust 343GuiltySpark. Betrayal eventually.

So is this the reason why I can’t load any DLC playlists? It keep sayng “someone” (apparently me) doesn’t have the necessary DLC, but I’ve deleted and redownloaded everything.

Can’t play Big Team or Mythic playlist

If only I could put this as my signature. Well said, good sir.
