Anyone have any funny or cruel or just painful stories while playing with randoms in HW2?
Team War. I match with a rank 2 and a rank 15. (I’m 50)
I’m just doing my normal build order and scouting/taking supplies. I decide to pop over to my allies’ bases and see what they’re up to.
The Yellow player is banished and has lots of grunts and an extractor + 3 harvesters, apex and engineers. Not bad.
Then I pop over to the level 2 orange player’s base. We are 2:30 in and he has NO production buildings, and about 8 marines just sitting there.
I’m just like oh you have got to be kidding me. So I pull up the resource tab, he has 0 supplies. So out of the generosity of my heart, I send him a message kindly asking him to build a supply pad, along with 2 clicks of resources. I go back to taking map control, then go back to check on my noob teammate. He took the money I sent him… and built an armory + Johnson.
…
Then at about 6 minutes in all 3 enemy players show up at my base, which I saw coming and tried to prepare for. Sadly, despite the help of my banished ally, the other player who had no resources again is just sitting there staring at his home base. No amount of map pinging got his attention. I was the first taken out of the game. Its safe to say that I promptly quit after that. No point waiting for that idiot to be the last player in the game before they took him out. Definitely the most frustrated I have been in a long time.
Earlier today I was playing with a teammate in 2v2 who I think was playing as Jerome or Johnson, I forgot. The enemies were moving close to us and I was going to divert their attention by attacking an enemy base that looked unguarded but had anti-air. My teammate refused to attack, and then he was defeated about 10 mins later. Being a turtle while the enemy stockpiles resources is not a good strategy, with the only good excuse being that you know the enemies army is simply better than yours and is right near your base. But a teammate who has 3 bases, moderate defenses, and an ultimate unit? Get those units out there and attack! What was he doing!

No, scratch that.
Me and a buddy came up against a triple forge with one random on my team. We knew he wasnt the best but he was playing colony so we let him be, 5m in, hes expanded twice and i proceed to push, with a brute rush based on the fact 2 expansions under 5m is a give away of having no clue, that and no units. I run out the front of my base and push theres with my buddy and run into 3 forges, whilest we are dealing with a triple hero rush, he still has no units and took EVERY expansion on the map at 6m and built no units. He didnt even build any supply pads just left them there… i actually rage quit and promptly sent a message. 2/10
I had this happen yesterday lol, Had a level 2 join me in my warm up for ranked in Team War. Proceeds to build only bases and no units bar the first 3 he started with. It was on the desert map where in 2v2 you’re pratically next to each other. So the whole game they play pushing me whilst I’m defend both me and my ally hoping he’s going to pull some crazy tech build out of the bag and bring a sacrab. At this point I was getting desperate for him to do anything. I promptly get pushed by YapYap and Forge all ining on me so I cannot defend against that go to look at his army and it’s still nothing so I promptly left. He then messages me after I should of stayed and we would of done that. I message back you’ve got a long way to learn if you think that strat would work.
It was horrible and he couldn’t understand why I kept saying go units first rather than base.
You know what…
VS AI. I was Colony in Domination. One ally was AFK, the other was boosting to ultimates. It was terrible, I pretty much had to hold all five points by myself because none of my allies lifted a finger to help me. I actually might have won without their help, if barely, but the AFK guy finally started building and the boosting guy finally got his scarabs and we eliminated the rest of the enemy bases.
Also, any VS AI Strongholds game where one guy quits is a guaranteed loss unless you charge with a locust army.

Was playing strongholed and I do the usual drill of trying to capture as many points as possible off the bat. Teammate 2 refuses to buy any of the strongholds no matter how much I ping. On top of that, even during the first engagements he refuses to move his units from his base. Teammate 3 only masses suicide grunts and sends them on a charge to the opposing main base. I was literally the only one that actually attack the other armies. I was matched 3 times with these people.

Aha that sounds fun, honestly could not play this game on my own, if I do it’s solely Solo Ranked. I play maybe team war when I’m on my own but even then that bugs the hell out of me on the odd occassion you get someone terrible.

My teammate gets disconnected.
It was a tragedy.
Was playin 2v2 with a random and we were on our last to bases. We were both resource rich and knew there was no defending against the next attack, so naturally we both built three super units. Three condors and three scarabs. CHARGE!!! //gets -Yoink- on .6 seconds into enemy seeing us… That failed miserably
Seems like everytime I play with a random, they sit at their base with a huge army doing nothing…

Ahh no worries mate, just saw you used mate in your post so thought maybe he’s English considering it’s mainly used here. Would make sense though an Aussie saying mate aha never even thought just guess you wouldn’t be American.

Yeah but his last sentence, mate the list goes on and on is an English saying and to start with mate isn’t something I see many Americans type so just wondered. Usually it’s mainly English people that use that expression. So not entirely sure what you are getting at here?
