Surely at 9pm I can expect there to be enough players in Europe to get a team doubles match on a European server and 25-30ms ping…?
Instead I get 125ms and am being shot around walls.
I would rather wait another 20 seconds in the lobby than play on a server on a different continent.
343 need to add server selection like MCC has.
Also, don’t want to play against m&k pc players when I’m on an Xbox.
Both issues occured in my last match so switched off for the night. Frustrating.
How are you able to verify you’re on NA vs. Euro servers?
Easy your ping skyrockets in this game when you get placed outside of your server region to the point you get a warning on the top right corner of the screen
The thing is you don’t know the exact server location just that you’re not in your region and usually assume you’re in the closet region outside of yours
Same here. On the same evening playing matches with 30-40ms, the next one with 130ms ping. Also during playing during peek time europe.
I posted a thread on this a couple of days ago. I’m UK based and never saw a ping above 90 before this week. I’m now getting few games at 20 ms which is my region and a lot of games between 80-150 range. Even had some at 35ms which I’ve never seen before but must be a slightly closer datacenter than the usual 85ms backup I used to get. The range is all over the place and the experience is very poor.
I had one match give me 900+ ping so i knew i wasn’t in my server region and sure enough someone sent me a voice message in Spanish and i had to text them a Google translated message saying that don’t blame me for the loss blame the game putting me in your server region for no reason
It’s quite easy, you go on Halo MCC /settings / server selection and you’ve got the list of all the different servers and your ping to these servers, there are 2 in EU (for me 11ms and 25ms) and US East is 90ms, the further away is Australia with 250ms ping.
Then you go back to infinite and check your ping in the top right corner of your screen. It matches those of the MCC (same Azure servers) so you know exactly on which server you’re playing.
This has basically been my expereince since launch. Australia life is a little rough

UK here also - It’s somewhat linked to playlist as well I have noticed and has definitely gotten worse in the last month.
I literally get on exclusively between 9pm and 12pm
I don’t have the issue in ranked or team slayer.
I mainly have the issue in quick play and sometimes in social doubles.
I’m putting this down to content and people getting bored.

I’m having a similar but opposite experience:
Everytime that I go Solo on PC, I’m always get connected to NA server, no matter what. If my brother joins the squad from XBOX the matchmaking manages to put us on SA server as it should.
I’m not bothered to play with K&M against console player though…
