Playing the objective should reward XP

If you have at least the right general idea of how to contribute and help your team, that should give you a bigger payout than the player who goes “I don’t understand or don’t care that this is a Strongholds or Oddball match” and finishes with zero captures or carry time

should reward XP , peroid, currently it awards nothing… unless you have a challenge for it.

Sure. I mean, more XP on top of the baseline daily 300, 200, 200 etc that you get per match.
Or, adjust those down so that you don’t get the full 300 and 200s for your first few matches if you’re ignoring objectives and being useless

Wouldn’t that just create situations where teammates would become rivals?

Because if i would want to grind XP and my teammate has the odbball, i would just let the enemy kill him and only then engage in combat to collect the oddball for myself, since i would only get more XP if i have the oddball and not one of my teammates.

Same with CTF, you would just let your teammate who is carrying the flag get killed, so you can take it over and cap it.

And with Strongholds it would be better to hide, let the enemy cap your stronghold and move on to the next one, so you can cap it back. Defending your stronghold would not be that good for XP then, since most of those firefights are just outside of the strongholds and dont get you an objection based kill (since staying in it to defend it would just make you a target, since enemies often spam nades in it and look into that zone).

I tend to play the BTB so there it is a grind at the best of times. I like the 12v12 clash.

I’m thinking make it a binary thing, where it’s not about farming or grinding or the amount of objective score you get, it’s just about detecting whether you’re playing the objective at all.
So maybe if you get just 2 Strongholds captures, or you pick up the oddball just once, or you stay near your friendly oddball carrier and defend them for 30 seconds or longer, that’s good enough.

Teammates are already rivals because people focus on their K/D and just expect teammates to play the objective. Moot point.

They should give the same XP for protecting the teammate who has the Oddball and holding the Oddball, but less XP for stopping the enemy when they have the Oddball.

Something similar for Strongholds and CTF.
Give incentive to play the right way.

Exactly. It incentivizes proper gameplay, which would help our new compatriots figure out what the ball is.

That doesn’t make them a rival (except if you only go for you k/d ofcourse), since a dead enemy can’t kill the oddball holder…

And how would that stop them from doing what they do now? Going for k/d is killing enemies and that also protects the oddball holder, since an dead enemy can’t kill the ballholder…

It would only be protecting if they killed someone shooting at the holder, someone within a certain range of the holder, or someone while they’re in a certain range from the holder.

Meaning that you would force people to let enemies get close to the ballholder before engaging in battle? This is not realy productive and endangeres the ballholder. Except when you make that range long enough, but that again it would just be k/d farming again…

Hmm…
Teammates shouldn’t be across the map from the ball holder, but the range should be reasonable.
Maybe 3-4x the range that the radar covers.

Most of the time, when I have a good team, and I’m holding the ball, they don’t go very far from where I’m at.

Oh, maybe they could just make it so all of the teammates get more XP while the team is holding the ball?
That way, the focus is on someone holding the ball, but teams won’t let each other be killed for the ball.

Nothing rewards XP expect Challenges.

I just want to play for fun, challenges bother me but I can’t grind my Battlepass because nothing give me XP (objectives, kills, assists, medals, …).

The Daily tab on the Challenges needs to be updated with multiple Daily, infinitely-repeatable challenges centered around the objective. Clear-cut descriptions, such as:

  • “As a team, across all matches, earn X many points in Oddball”.

  • “As a team, across all matches, earn X flag captures”.

  • “As a team, across all matches, earn X many points in Strongholds”.

They all give the exact same amount of XP and the numbers of points would be small, ideally completable in 1-2 matches, so one game type isn’t “faster” than the others. This would help to disincentivize quitting.

Straightforward “play the game, help your teammates, you don’t have to be the MVP” challenges that you get an infinite amount of each day keeps things simple for both the dev team and the players.

It would be a tricky situation. They would need to develop a medal for protecting the carrier (if there isn’t one already).

Somewhat agree.

Score points already contribute to some Challenges so they amount to XP gains.

Objectives should offer MORE score points. 100 for a flag capture is equal to a kill. Captures should be worth 3,000 points.

There is already a medal for protecting an ally.
It wouldn’t be difficult for them to make a medal that checks if an enemy is attacking an ally who is holding an objective.

JFC…if u don’t have the ball…you protect the ball carrier. Not rocket science . This talk about " team mates becoming adversaries". Grow up.

or, or! and hear me out here. there’s already a score per match that goes up with kills and objective points… use that as xp for an actual progression system
