AR starts are just not fun for me. The pistol is the primary weapon in every match. And this is allll because 343’s pro team thought this would make it more balanced and competitive. In a sense this is true, however it gets boring really fast.
We had BR and AR starts during beta. BR starts were very boring and a LOT of people complained about it. It reduces the game to base camping and kills map movement.

I don’t fall into the boring category for this one. But i agree with the OP. I am doing SWAT until we get BR or DMR starts. My only complaint is I wish the SWAT playlist had DMRs as well.

I wish SWAT had playlists in general! I’m sick of getting SWATNUMS 4x in a row. What happened to choice in this game like they had in 4? random game modes are the worst
I’ve never been a fan of the AR’s I hope they at least improved upon them this time around.
Br starts just make the game a mid map fire fight no thanks.
There are plenty to pick up on the map. I like that you start with more close range weapons. It encourages map progression. The pistol can be used at range, if needed.
I think AR starts are the best, because it’s the most balanced starting loadout. That said, every now and again I want BR/Pro starts and the SWAT playlist is perfect.
