I guess the important thing to keep in mind is that the maps tend to be developed with more standard play modes in mind.

Then introducing more niche modes (eg. SWAT or Infection) - may or may not work.

But there is only one way to find out…

There will be more maps soon. And Forge. The rotation of suitable maps will increase.

Try playing swat on behemoth with ping ranging from 20-190.

That was the worst experience I’ve ever had the displeasure of slogging through in a video game.

I’d rather go back to my Toxic Ex than play on Behemoth, Ranked or Social it is the worst map in the rotation

It’s actually really interesting to hear differing opinions on it. I see people saying Launch Base, and Behemoth are the best maps in the game. Then others saying they are garbage. It’s easy to see why since those two maps are obviously designed different. They seem more designed for Objective to me. Not so good for Slayer due to all the open space for easy sniping. But it just highlights that the game badly needs more maps.

I largely think ranked CTF plays OK on it but does warrant a lot of teamwork and it doesn’t work at all for Slayer - especially without BR starts… Haven’t played much Swat yet but the thought of it on Behemoth is enough to put me off trying it more

I think it has to do with the weapon spawns/rotations. It’s a 4v4 map with vehicles. Essentially the map is in the center while the vehicle circuit surrounds it. Personally I think the Hog/Ghost or whatever should be the primary power item while every other weapon is designed to stop them.

Example:

  • No snipers, just skewers. Also cuts down on the cross mapping bs because the skewer is more difficult to snipe with.
  • Disruptors on the pistol spawns. PP is useless and the Mangler is out of place on a long range map like Behemoth.
  • BR or Commando is fine, but a lack of BR would seriously limit the range of engagements. Also BR doesn’t work for Behemoth. Gives too much power on a map where range is supposed to be the great equalizer. Frankly, it’s a social map anyways, especially since 343 took the vehicles out of it anyways.
  • Probably go Sentinel Beam over Needler, unless Overshield is on the map. Then go Needler to keep it from being overpowered.
  • Ravager has no place on this map (or game until it gets a buff). Hydra or bust. Also the Hydra should be a power weapon at top mid (this space is almost completely unused and people just go there to die), since it’s the best vehicle killer in the game after the Skewer. But its ability to track makes it more valuable imo.
  • Equipment is fine.

Launch Site and Behemoth are dope for Fiesta.

Behemoth is awful if you constantly spawn with say a pistol or pulse carbine whilst everyone else gets BRs, snipers and other OP weapons though

Launch site is no fun for any game type. Behemoth is good for ctf and that’s it.
