Playing social Attrition 30 ms but playing ranked 100 - 120 ms

Yesterday again one of this wierd evening. Played a few Attrition matches. On every match, the ping was between 20 - 30 ms. Gameplay was fun, hit registration working well.

Changed to ranked because i had a challenge Sum 5000 points in ranked. Every ranked match had high ping between 100 - 130 ms. It was a mess. Desync, input lag, shot registering with a huge delay. Played enough matches to complete the challenge.

Then i thought, lets do 1 last Attrition match. Searched a match, 20 ms ping.

For me there is no doubt. I played on different servers. Social matches were on european servers. But the ranked matches were on overseas servers.

i’m in the uk with 25ms playing against americans. I smell BS. In other games if im playing with americans, i’m atleast in a 100ms server.

And that its what i dont get. Most of my social i get a ping between 20-30 ms. Sure, there are also some minor issues with lag, hit registration, but really minor issues.

With 100-130 ms its a pain. Everything is delayed, you get kill notification 1-2 second later. Getting killed by a grenade from nowhere. Melee in the back, nothing happens.
Same applies to me, i survive full rocket hit. And so many other connection issues. Im playing ranked only if i have to complete a challenge and the weekly reward is something that i want. Otherwise im avoiding ranked.

My connections have been really solid generally. I’m from UK playing on 1gb internet.

I don’t know what the ping is as I have that turned off. Don’t care about stressing about the details of it.

Used to have terrible connections and internet when I didn’t have my own house and most games especially Halo were really tough at times. Yellow bar warrior half of the time.

Since I moved out I’ve had nothing but great connections in pretty much every game I’ve played consistently. It got ropey in Diamond/Onyx level on Halo 5 sometimes. I guess maybe I was having to be filtered more frequently into east coast servers with a waning population.
