Playing Reach Again Reminds Me....

Just how bad some things are in the game. I played Reach a ton back in the day and loved it, but now that I come back to it, I take a lot of things from other Halo games for granted. I forgot just how terrible bloom is and how even when I pace my shots, I can still lose to someone who spams shots but gets lucky that most shots landed. Every DMR fight feels like a luck fight rather than a skill fight, same with the Magnum. I also forgot how slow the shield recharge rate is, or how high up it feels like I am aiming when I aim at someone’s head, or how annoying it can be not having bleed-through melees, and a bunch of other things. How did I ever love this?

But not all is bad. At least grenades don’t have cross-map splash range like they do in Halo 5. Plus the armor was better done and most of it actually looks good, or at least decent, while most Halo 4 and 5 armor sets look bad and silly. I may have a lot of complaints about Halo 5, but I definitely take a lot of things for granted, and I never saw that until now after I have come back to Reach

I didn’t say anything about the framerate because I’m playing Reach on the Xbox One, which has framerate issues

Yeah I played some slayer, realized how bad bloom was, then hopped on team snipers and was having a -Yoink- ton of fun. I’m on Xbone and I’m not having fps problems though.

Yeah, weird thing is, I’m only noticing the problems in campaign. Textures taking 15-20 seconds to fully load and pop, frame rate slowing down to the point where it takes a solid 5 seconds or more to reload the AR when things get hectic, even when holding down the trigger the rate of fire drops to a slow chug … but this is all only in campaign. I haven’t noticed it at all in multiplayer.

Also, look at THIS … wow
