I would love to be able to swim underwater and shoot underwater instead of just Die in every halo you can’t swim underwater and shoot underwater Halo takes place in the mid 2500 so we should be able too call of duty had done it and it’s not far into the future like halo is.
on a big forge map in Halo Infinite it would be really fun to swim underwater in the ocean and shoot.
I want to know what the community thinks about this be able to play and swim and shoot underwater in maps in Multiplayer!!
Every Halo game has had us believe that, after billions spent in R&D, Chief can’t swim. Now, are we to do a total 180 and accept he can magically do so? Madness!

As I recall the weight of the armour would pull them down to the bottom, the suits are air tight, and they can recycle oxygen for around 90 minutes I think. So, swimming and shooting may not be possible, but underwater play might be possible. It does not appeal to me though.

I do not believe Spartans can’t swim.
Armored Spartans on the other hand would sink like rocks, and I don’t think the Gen-2’s have had a weight reduction to the extent that the Spartans would be able to swim with them.
Thrusters could potentially work for moving through water though.
Previously in-game, water has been a convenient barrier.

Which is hilarious because aren’t those suits designed to survive the vacuum of space? Surely the deep depths down below are not too much different as the suits are meant to be air tight and survive harsh atmospheres.

I think it’s more of a how would the master chief swimming fit in a halo game? If we’re talking about campaign, I think it could work, but not so much in matchmaking. Halo thrives on lateral movements and jumping. The physics are built around being on dry ground, and that gives us much better control with the ability to be more accurate with aiming. In matchmaking, swimming makes no sense from a mechanics standpoint. It would make level design 10 times harder and incorporating that into what already makes halo, halo, would be next to impossible.

It would depend on how much pressure the suit can take and how deep in the depths you’re taking about. If it can’t take a lot of pressure, the suit will be crushed if you’re very deep underwater.
Personally I believe that if Spartan can fly in space and fall threw a atmosphere then they can defiantly swim in water with the thruster on the suite.
But as far for the maps I would love to see a Forerunner map under water where the glass is cracked and its filling up the map slowly with water. I could even take that approach like in Stargate Atlantis.

Though the crushing pressurization of deep depths and outer space are two different factors.
