Playing on same connection problem

Me and my brother both have our own Xbox One and we’ve been trying to play some Halo 5 online while we’re both on the same connection. It’s a very inconsistent problem, where we’ve been able to play online with each other, but it’s for like 2 games, then it goes back to the same problem. It’ll kick either one of us out of the game and give us an “Unable to join” message. We looked at our wifi and don’t see anything that wouldn’t allow us to play with each other. We didn’t have this problem awhile back, but it’s now just starting to happen.

The first thing I would check is that you both have an open NAT type.

We both have Open NAT types

I heard that having two Xbox consoles connected to the same network can cause problems due to the additional stress of maintain a solid connection for both, though I’m not certain.

This is going to take some effort on your part, but you need to have a special setup when running two like consoles on the same network. You can google this a hundred times over and finds a plethora of results, but I’ve done the first part of digging for you. Take a look at this ARTICLE
