While the challenges themselves aren’t difficult its because they are required to progress anything at all. Up until yesterday I didn’t really think much about why I was started to have less fun playing seeing as I’ve enjoyed the previous titles (yes even H4, but to a lesser degree).
Then it clicked as I was finishing the last Tenrai challenge. By the time I’m done completing challenges I’m more frustrated and annoyed than anything due to how some challenges don’t work right (FFA challenges only counting if you manage top 3, for me at least) others straight up not working or the fact they require you to play specific game types (unpopular opinion: I do not like fiesta).
Linear progression with progression rewards needs to roll out asap to replace the challenge system in it’s entirety.
Probably my favorite perk of being done with the pass is not caring about the challenges anymore. If the weekly reward isn’t anything substantial (anything other than a backdrop) then I don’t bother with them at all. Went a good 3 weeks without chasing a single challenge.
I don’t enjoy being pigeon holed into gametype/playlist I don’t like playing.
If a challenge can’t be completed in any given game, then the challenge is bad and should be removed.
I don’t know. On one hand usually you’re right you can ignore it. On the other hand, when it comes time for an event like Tenrai, I think having completed the battle pass makes it less exciting. Because now when you get a challenge involving you playing Swat, you get nothing for completing it. All you get is the chance at another Fracture challenge. And then when you get another challenge which you can’t complete in Fiesta, then what did you get for completing the Swat challenge? Essentially, nothing. It’s frustrating. It doesn’t make you want to play more, that’s for sure.
Oh I reroll the SWAT challenges every time. Can’t stand that gametype.
Cumulative score in SWAT is the absolute worst because you rarely ever get assists or any other point generation other than kills, so it can take several games to complete.
On the bright side though, Tenrai challenges take up more than half of the weekly pool, I think I only had to do like 2 or 3 games in a different playlist to complete the week, everything else I could do in Fiesta.
I would swap, but I used up all my challenge swaps during the HCS week where it was all ranked challenges. I didn’t realize you’d only get more ranked challenges that week. And since I’ve completed the pass I can’t earn more
almost like it would be more fun if there was an actual per match XP progression system to incentivize playing for fun. rather than having to do the challenges
And they’re here to stay so…Lol I hope the game crashes and burns. I’m waiting to see if they add a good pve mode like reach’s or Odst’s FF. H5’s was utter trash because it becomes more about vehicle gameplay than boots on the ground.
Ignore the challenges and you will have more fun with the game. That’s what I do. I have 3 tenrai challenges ready to be completed but if I don’t feel like playing Fiesta then they’ll remain unfinished
You get a tiny bit of XP for completing matches… maybe they need to bump that up, or increase if you win a match. 50XP for a match (after the initial 300, 200, 100) is nothing, but I guess they need some way of stopping people getting all the awards through level grinding
Its designed to be frustrating so that if you really want to unlock stuff while mosty ignoring challlenges then you will want to keep using challenge swaps to get your preferred modes. its essentially pay to play what you want if you want to unlock sstuff. business wise itsss clever. just need to add credit rewards to challenges and not just xp
don’t worry, once you complete the BP and don’t have any challenges, you can instead shift your focus on fully enjoying the game with its selection of 7 arena maps, 5 playlists, broken BTB, desync and broken hit registration.
Yes. It makes playing the game completely unbareable. You always have those stupid, stressful tasks in the back of your mind while you’re trying to have fun with the game.
