“Halo 5: Guardians is a great game !” is what i would say if I could actually play it. 9 out of 10 games I play I get kicked out for “poor connection to servers” or some other jazz. Then I find out I got banned. I can understand being banned for betraying teammates of other such yoinkery, but for just trying to play the game and being disconnected? Banning is something that I don’t agree with, but understand the point of. A ten minute ban for being a bad sport is okay, but I have been banned for nearly three hours. I have only ever had this problem with my Xbone. Any suggestions or commiserations…

Fix your internet.
Get your NAT open, get off of youtube etc.
Thanks. I don’t go on the computer while playing Halo (only game I have), and have no idea how to “fix” my internet or change my NAT (it is usually open). I live out in the boonies (sort of) so maybe there is just a dead opossum in one of the internet transceiver boxes messing with my signal, “sigh”.
If your lagging out of or quitting or leaving a game early in any manner for any reason you are still negatively impacting the other people that were on your team. So yes you will get banned.
You won’t get banned if you lose connection once in a while.
However, if you lose connection often then you’re messing up other people’s game experience and you should really get your Internet fixed before trying to play more. People in this case deserve any ban they get for joining games knowing there is a good chance they will not finish it.
It is not unlike getting a ticket for having a broken headlight or taillight. It’s not your fault but it is something you need to get fixed and you’re making the road less safe by driving with it that way.
is it possible to plug your Xbox directly into the modem? That’s what I do.

lol! I have a friend who always has connection problems, since he lives out in the boonies too; you’re opossum explanation cracked me up. Getting disconnected does suck; if it happens more than once, I would suggest just stop playing, maybe reset your internet and then give it some time; being banned will more than likely take longer than waiting for your internet to clear up.
I got an idea. How many times do you repeat the same behavior before you learn what you are doing is not working. After the 3 , 4th max disconnect you should have known that your connection is not stable enough or fast enough to do MP. You have ruined a lot of games for a lot of people and wasted your own time in the process. It suks to have bad internet. Just get it fixed. If that’s not an option , then sorry, don’t play.
I’d contact your Internet service provider and let them know your issue and see if they can check into it. That’s your safest bet, otherwise the only other thing you can do is reset your modem, router, and even hard reset your xbox one and see if any of that makes a difference.
Have you checked your network details on your xbox one lately to see what it says about your speeds?
Done that all before. Internet provider said they can’t (or won’t) do anything. My download and upload speeds are above the minimum required for xbox live (which I have been able to play Halo on since the days of Halo 3). As for learning that I get disconnected, so great is my love for Halo that I live for those stolen moments of gameplay wherein I get to assassinate, head-shot, and otherwise mess up dumb enemies. It may selfish to keep on playing, but what would you do to further your passion?

Well without knowing what exactly your Internet company told you we are kind of stuck. Maybe a new modem or router is in order.
I was having disconnect issues with my ISP and had to call them three times within two weeks and they ended up coming out and fixing the issue.
They need to just bring back the old betrayal system.

I do that, it started to bug me when I would try to play Iron Banner and lag out of games
Holy crap dude, you have so many freakin DNF, those cannot all be lagged games! You deserve to be banned!

Sadly yes. I don’t get to complete enough games to get a chance to quit (or betray my teammates to be booted).
