How would everyone feel about having the option to play the campaign as your own spartan AFTER you completed already(maybe only on legendary). This would give a cool halo reach feel to it, where you feel like you are actually the spartan doing the fighting. Of course, any special dialogue related to the chief could be removed.
Also, on multiplayer campaign, one player could play as the chief and the others play as their own spartans.
Of course, it could be entirely optional.

I would like to see this. Maybe in something like Spartan Ops or some sort of side campaign.
I think to implement this in the normal campaign could be done maybe further down the road but I l still want to stick with the MC as long as possible.
After I got Reach, I didn’t do the campaign till after I unlocked my preferred armor. It was pretty awesome going through in your own armor/colors.
It’d be a pretty cool thing to do.

In Halo Reach you played as Noble six I believe, and little was known about he/she.
That’s why you could pick what they looked like, it was your spartan.
Master chief to most people makes halo feel like halo, and if you could play as your own spartan than i think they would have to do it similar to Halo 2. have two main characters, the chief and also your own spartan. But i think if people could choose between having the second character as a spartan of your choice, or the arbiter… people will choose the Arbiter.
It likely complicates things a lot (like cutscenes) and is a completely redundant feature, but I don’t see how it would be an issue for co-op players, so keep one Master Chief at least. To be honest, though, I’d much rather have Blue Team as co-op players similar to the Arbiter in Halo 3.
How about a multiple perspective campaign similar to Halo 2 or ODST?
I think unlocking the option to play as your own Spartan would be a very cool idea! As long as there is Theater support for the Campaign in the next game, because of there is, you can make use of the Campaign’s neat and unique environments to take some awesome pictures! 
However, I’d still mostly play as Chief when playing Campaign though. The Campaign is Chief’s story, not mine/my Spartan’s. Spartan Ops or FF should be the game mode for your Spartan and his career.

That is of course, if 343 decides to make Spartan Ops for Halo 5. Firefight was way more popular so they may just make a new version of that for Halo 5 instead.

Why not both, new hardware=new goodies.
I like the idea, but I would rather it be only the secondary players in Co-op so that we don’t have to do the Chief quartet. Now that Chiefs back with the UNSC he’s bound to have some Spartan IV buddies.
also Spartan Ops (If present) should have Reach-style cutscenes that let you watch your custom Spartan in action.

They better add some cutscenes of your own Spartan to Spops next-go-round then. It’d be neat to actually see what your Spartan was doing.
