Any of you who have played halo wars will understand the UNSC have the units “Cyclops’s” and we’ve seen what they are like in combat but i was thinking what would it be like to actually use one in battle?
Anyone thinking of a certain cerberus mech in a particular rpg/3ps game set in the future right now…

Cyclopsai?

Bit like this I’d imagine.

Please, no “______ did it first” crap. We’ve seen enough of that from the CoD fanboys.

Calm down bro, I was just giving an example of the what the first person view might look like if it was done in Halo 4, the Atlas in Mass Effect operates in a completely different fashion to the cyclops in HW.

Ah, but that was only meant for the cyclops on Warhouse/Haven. They never mentioned this slimmed down Cyclops 2 seen in campaign. We may see another prototype gameplay device, much like Reach’s space combat.

The map they are on looks a lot like a Halo: Reach map I know… Boardwalk.

I would rather a spin-off along the lines of Armored Core and ChromeHounds set in the Halo universe rather than some power armor out of Avatar in a FPS. Right now mech games are looking bleak console wise and I believe that western studios like DICE or 343 could really bring out a mech game that could revitalize the genre. Hawken looks promising on the Pc, but I’m not a fan of the designs, yet it’s certainly on the right path. Personally I’d rather something more cool looking along the lines of Appleseed and AC than retro steam punk concepts, so its jaded me to Hawken.
Plus I never really like the slow plodding of Mech Warrior especially after getting behind a AC unit. After playing through all the vehicles in Halo I could easily see fast paced Halo design Mecha tearing up the landscape. I don’t know, I hope they branch out and take some chances with Halo Wars and expand into other venues. They could easily dominate Mecha Warfare games because there’s quite few Xbox players who fondly remember ChromeHounds and lament it’s servers shutting down.

> well i didnt really think the Cyclops’s worked like them from avatar, of course without a doubt they do look very similar. maybe the cyclops should work like for picking up vehicles and large objects such as containers, or to be able to pick up junk and throw it at its enemy as well as having to melee them?

> True. But since he said we’ll be driving a vehicle that ‘dwarfs’ it, I believe he was talking about the game as a whole.
What the hell could dwarf one of these, outside of an elephant or mammoth? You don’t think we could take a forerunner cryptum or ship do you?

> Really, that’s what you’re focusing on? Somehow my statement has little to no merit because I made a Avatar reference? I now know how Dr. Leonard Hofstadter feels like every morning at 8:30.

> Oh well. Look the design pretty much harkens back to the late 80’s from the game Mech Warrior, You could go as far as the Power Loader from Aliens or even some of the old GI Joe cartoons and you’ll find shadows of the Cyclops and M3 Atlas. I’m just saying I would rather the sleek combat styling of modern Japanese mecha designs incorporated with a Halo spin off with a western story line that’s far more relatable and far more Halo.
